This one is for the Russian apologists.
I support the USA working towards crashing the Russian economy. Putin deserves it. -

In the year 2025: Did you ever imagine you would make it this long.....????
I had some pretty hairy events on motorbikes in my teens, and the same with cars, as well as making pretty large pipe bombs out of weedkiller and sugar and having some near misses with those escapades. Travelled to Libya to work for an oil company just after the Gaddafi revolution, and things were very "unsettling" there for the expats like me and I almost got my head stoved in by a very large pipe bolt thrown by an irate Libyan mechanic and luckily it missed by inches. Then onto Nigeria just after the Biafran war had ended, although there was still quite a bit of aggravation in south-eastern state and one had to be very wary. Back to Libya in 1976 and had a very large pistol held against my temple by an angry Libyan soldier who caught a few of us drinking, and I thought those were my last few moments on earth, I really did. A few more dangerous escapades, but none as bad as the above, and I consider myself lucky to have made it this far and I hope for a few more years yet!! -

American on Dirt Bike Kills Thai Woman Crossing Road in Chiang Mai
The notion that Thai pedestrians regularly wander into oncoming traffic like headless chickens is something I have almost never witnessed. If anything Thais are more cautious pedestrians than those in the West. The only exception I've experienced in 20+ years here is an elderly woman on a back road not far from my house who abruptly decided to cross the street on her way back home not far from my house. Either she was deaf or the wind was so strong she couldn't hear my approaching pickup. Problem is a lot of elderly people can only move so fast, and if they misjudge that the road is clear and start crossing the road, and suddenly a speeding vehicle approaches, they simply can't get out of the way the same way a younger person might be able to. All foreigners need to drive with utmost caution here; nowhere should the admonition "you are a guest here" be more stringently adhered to than when one is behind the wheel. -

Russia Dismisses Proposed Peace Deal from Trump Transition Team
I believe that Russia has already lost. It would never admit it but: Russia has no chance of subjugating the whole of Ukraine. It may maintain its territorial gains, but free Ukraine will be aligned with the West, the EU, the US and will be staunchly anti-Russian. A much bigger thorn in Russia's western side than if Russia had not waged a war against it. Russia wanted to stop NATO expansion. But following the war against Ukraine, NATO has become bigger and more powerful, because it will invest more in defense. Through a show of force, Putin wanted to demonstrate to the world that Russia is today a great power. The performance of the Russian army and armaments has been so disappointing that it has convinced the world of the exact opposite. Russia is a dwarf desperately trying to appear bigger and more dangerous than it actually is. When the war ends (hopefully soon), Russia will be faced with the problem that a significant portion of its GDP is tied to the war, and produces nothing of value to use in peacetime. The Russian defense industry employs approximately 3.5 million people in 2024 and accounts for 20% of all manufacturing jobs in Russia. Hundreds of thousands of men currently employed by the army and paid high wages will be laid off without any opportunity to find similarly paid jobs in civil society. This is nothing new. This happened every time Russia waged war. World War II is the only exception, because Russia was not sanctioned but rather supported in its post-war recovery. This happened at the end of the First World War, when tsarism was overthrown, and at the end of the war in Afghanistan, when the Soviet Union collapsed. And this time it will be Putin's regime that collapses. Soon it will be time to politely knock on the door and see the whole Putin's house of cards collapse.- 1

MP demands answers on income and legality of Chinese police training
Surely it's a joke, the CCP control every aspect of their citizens lives, while else are all the chinese scum criminals operating outside of the country, including here. Because they would be found out in a jot inside china. The Thai's can train their own police properly because of the endemic corruption, except in how to be corrupt. Clearly another example of mafia making money for no worthwhile purpose... -

Sadiq Khan's Knighthood Sparks Controversy Amid Criticism of His Leadership
Looking forward to reading the frothing comments from AN’s rabid right wing posters. I wonder if they will acknowledge that the ULEZ policy was born during the Mayoralty of the disgraced former PM Johnson.- 1
