Gold Nugget | Where can one be bought

If you found a nugget it would have to be pure gold and not an amalgam of other minerals. If it was pure gold it might be moderately expensive. Since you only want it as a display piece you might find it easier to just get a normal stone and paint it gold. Would be easier , cheaper , and serve the purpose.

I'm pretty sure that doing that would result in having what appears to be a stone covered in gold-coloured paint, something that definitely would not serve the OP's purpose.

About 20 years ago I saw such in a thing in a display case at the Bangkok Assay office on Charoen Krung near the Silom junction.  Not sure the shop is even still there, nor the nugget, but the company is definitely still around and it might be worth contacting them and asking them if they know where to source something like it.
