Thais must disregard coup and betrayal rumors and stick together

In a functioning democracy, the winning party would be celebrating its victory and forming a government with like-minded parties. But alas, Thailand is not a fully functioning democracy. Instead of a moment of respite and joy, the Move Forward Party has been the center of a million political rumors from coalition betrayal, to being an agent of a foreign power, to the possibility of another coup.

 

As a country that has experienced several political upheavals in recent history, this is not unexpected. But these rumors and the people that spread them are threatening the stability and progress the country has achieved. It is imperative for the Thai people to remain steadfast in their support for democracy and resist the temptation to succumb to baseless speculation.

 

Borrowing from the Czechs

 

Thailand should take a page from Vaclav Havel’s fight against the communist party during the height of the Cold War. Havel was a prominent Czech writer, philosopher, and dissident who later became the first President of Czechoslovakia and then the Czech Republic. Havel came up with the “as if” movement which advocated for individuals to live their lives “as if” they were free and to challenge the legitimacy of the oppressive regime through their actions. Havel believed that even in the face of a repressive system, individuals could reclaim their dignity and autonomy by refusing to participate in the charade of the regime’s ideology.

One obvious question is: Why does the Electoral Cmn take 2 months to officially 'declare' the outcomes of the national election, when it's already published who won what seat?

 

[cf Australia a year ago: The federal election was on a Saturday. The leader of the new winning party (and therefore new government) was sworn in as PM the following Monday and immediately flew off to Japan for important security talks.]

If this is a USA WEF injected pig, they'll have ways to make the old established pigs comfortable.

I’d cool it down a bit for now. Yes celebrate you won the majority, but you still don’t have all the seats needed. So use your time wisely and make sure you secure those best you can first before the big Victory.

The point of course is that very little that's good can come out of 2 months' interregnum. All it does is give the Unreconstructibles time to organize to prevent the new government from launching its program to move Thailand gently in to the C21st.

One might ask how these insidious and terribly convoluted [and ultimately controlling] general election procedures and actions were designed by and who benefits the most. 

 

Hint: it reeks of ruling military class.

Best use of time would be to reverse the verse and spend the time "beating the ploughshares,,,,,"

 

The imposed delay in the establishment of active governance is designed entirely to deaden the initiative of the the incoming administration, and remove any "wind of change" that may blow upon the sails of the "vessel of state".

 

It is nothing more than a delaying tactic to facilitate Counter Democratic moves........of all kinds.
