Ohh...  how you miss the point.....

The weigh-bridge is the proof that a bribe is needed to be paid...  The sticker avoids the weigh-bridge altogether...

In fact the sticker avoids all ‘issues’...  from pollution, to driving within certain times, to untaxed, uninsured and unlicensed vehicles and unlicensed drivers etc

The ’sticker’ is a ‘carte-blanche’ and has been known about for decades, even by many of the Westerners with whom I associate, so there no way those in positions of power are surprised or shocked by this...

About 20 per cent of truck drivers paid for those stickers, available from 3,000-20,000 baht per month.

That pays for lots of police overtime.  Shame they only do overtime during the 7 Dangerous Days fiasco.

The special stickers are available at a cost of thousands baht per month and they have various designs such as a blue rabbit or a smiling sun.

Why the LTFT doesn't copy and print such stickers itself? It would be a very cheap way to completely overturn this bribery system.

This came up a few years ago during the motorway construction. Scales getting on the motorway to BKK from Chonburi had the exact same thing going on.
