Not sure that I can suggest 7, but howabout:

- Sukkothai

- Ayuthaya

Well, if we go by whole towns I'd suggest the old city of Chiang Mai and the dwellings of the sea gypsies.

@Jet Gorgon:

Buddha Park Nongkhai? Are you serious? :o

1) I wonder why people prefer to drive in two lanes at once

2) I wonder why there are no breakfast restaurants

3) I wonder why stores open at 10 or 11 when most people seem to get up around 6:30

4) I wonder why it so easy to barter with cops over fines/bribes

5) I wonder about the logic of having 30 identical fruit stands

6) I wonder why bus seats have the numbers on the back of the seats

7) I wonder why they wait till your done eating to appraise your bill by looking at the empty plates

1. Because the lanes are so tiny, and by driving overlapping a lane, can accomodate 2 cars and smaller vehicles such as tuk tuk.

2. There are, but they're on the sidewalks. Coffee and Patonggo anyone?

3. That's the beauty of entrepreneurialship.

4. Because pigs in India probably make more than they do.

5. It's a govermental ploy to keep Thai people skinny and sexy.

6. People take them home, so it's a good way of keeping track? I really don't know.

7. Thai people like to think on their feet. And it's obvious they don't keep track of how many plates you eat at the start.

Seven Interesting Sites of Historical Significance in Thailand

Wat Haripunchai (an example of Mon architecture from the 11th c.) - Lamphun

The archaeological site, Ban Chiang, Udon Thani Province

Wat Arun - Thonburi

The Khmer style temples at Phimai

The rock formations at Phu Phrabat Historical Park, Udon Thani Province

The old chedi at Nakhon Pathom

The Buddha image at Wat Phra Kaeo, Bangkok, which has been central to kingdoms centred at Chiang Mai (Lanna); Luang Prabang (Lan Chang), Laos; and Bangkok

Assuming they all have to be man-made, as the New 7 Wonders all are, I'd choose:

Muang Boran "The Ancient City" near Bangkok

Wat Phra Kaew

Wat Arun

Reclining Buddha in Wat Pho

Wat Doi Suthep, Chang Mai

Khmer Ruins at Phimai

Wat Phra Sing, Chiang Mai

Very wat-centric, I know, but are there any other non-religious monuments worthy of a mention?

1. Wonder when Pattaya will be completed.

2. Wonder when tailors will learn to recognise me after I refuse every day for a month to buy yet another suit .

3. Wonder when girls will stop insisting I'm hansum.

4. Wonder when Phuket taxi drivers will learn they are too expensive for short trips.

5. Wonder when the passport control at BKK airport will be able to handle one plane load of passengers in less than 30 minutes.

6. Wonder when Soi 6 bars will turn the music down so can finally explore the bars there without suffering burst eardrums.

7. Wonder when I'll have enough time and money for a return trip.

What about Sri Thep in Petchabun ?

The one site I was at had a couple ancient temples, dating back to the 6th and 13th centuries I believe. Nowhere near the state of preservation of places like Angkor Wat though.
