Ten waterfalls worth visiting during the rainy season

The rainy season is an ideal time to visit Thailand’s waterfalls, because they are at their most beautiful. 

 

The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation has recommended ten such waterfalls located in National Parks across the country.

 

These include:

 

• Mae Ya in Doi Inthanon National Park in Chiang Mai
• Khlong Lan in Khlong Lan National Park and Tao Dam in Khlong Wang Chao National Park in Kamphaeng Phet
• Krung Ching in Khao Luang National Park in Nakhon Si Thammarat
• Huai Mae Kamin in Srinagarind National Park and Erawan in Erawan National Park in Kanchanaburi
• Mun Daeng in Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park in Phitsanuloke
• Huai Luang in Phu Chong Na Yoi National Park in Ubon Ratchathani
• Mae Surin in Mae Surin National Park in Mae Hong Son
• Haew Narok in Khao Yai National Park in Nakhon Ratchasima

Lots of waterfalls close in monsoon as too dangerous.

I remember swimming in one near Petchabun when the rangers gathered us all up and escorted us out as it was raining upstream.

BUTT! No rain next month. That's what the experts say. What a bunch of morons running the show here. Rain. No rain. Inflation at lowest point. Egg prices at highest point. Tourist numbers up. Tourist numbers down. Exports down. Economy up. Etc., etc. There's only one thing you can bank on. Thai baht is strong.

I'm perplexed with this Thai obsession with waterfalls  Where I live (Chiang Rai)  there are highways signs everywhere directing you a nearby waterfall.  I've seen a few, usually a little less than impressive.
