Take Me Out Thailand: American man gets blackout for his male chauvinistic attitude

Thirty Thai women in the popular dating game show Take Me Out Thailand gave a blackout to an arrogant 22 year old American man after he showed his male chauvinistic side.

He insisted at the end of the show that he told the truth, thankfully the Thai contestants would not accept a man who appeared to have stepped out of a 1950s time machine. The episode sparked a heated discussion among Thai netizens.

In the Take Me Out Thailand game show, which was aired on June 10, the single American man, who introduced himself as Tangmo in Thai, joined the show hoping to win the hearts of 30 Thai women. Throughout the episode, Tangmo expressed his views on married life, leaving many women on the show and netizens alike in disagreement. So, the girls gave him a blackout.

Tangmo said in the show in Thai…

“I consider myself a conservative person. For me, a man must be the breadwinner, working for the family. A man is a leader while a woman is a follower and supporter. I do not mean to imply that a man is superior to a woman but each has to do their duties.”

Continuing his discourse, the American shared his perspective on the concept of loyalty.

He stated…

“Some women who claim to desire multiple husbands have likely been influenced by social media. However, their true instincts don’t align with such desires. A good woman will desire only one man. The value of a woman is her purity. It is different for a man. Man’s instinct needs more than one woman.

“The meaning of loyalty is different from a woman. A man must take care of his partner and uphold his promises. If a man can take care of more than one woman, it is fine. All men want more than one woman. It depends on whether they will tell the truth to the women or not. For me, I want to have many children. If that woman could not give me, so she will have more friends at home.”

Hogamus higamus, Jack is polygamous. Higamus hogamous, Jill is monogamous.

Muslims don't seem to have any problem with the concept, the Me-Too partisans do.

Guess who is heading for extinction?

Unlikely. He's way too young and nowhere near grumpy enough!

And he was clearly under the impression that he could have any woman he wanted. He's probably still washing the egg off his face.

And what is so outlandish?

He just explained the evolutionary role before there was contraception.

I think this technology is around a few years now but before that made perfectly sense for spreading your DNA.

He is is just an evolutionary biologist.

I don't think so. Most members here can't count to ten in Thai.

I thought the article was going to be about some American moron who got black out drunk and then black-listed/deported for offending some local GenZ snowflake's little sensitivities.

Yep. All the typical traits displayed.

Most definitely.

Some real sensitive and chauvinistic posters who would have been given a blackout on the show as well.  Thais watch a lot of things which you guys do not.  If you were to spend just 30 minutes watching such shows you might learn something.

Tangmo. Isn't that usually a female nickname?

Like the recently deceased Nida Patcharaveerapong.

I assume these shows are somewhat scripted and that he was playing a "role"?

He was doing okay before he said. "It is different for a man". After that, and with a good look, I thought he was Corey "Narcissist" Wayne's alter ego. He thinks 3% of men are real men, and the rest are beta weak males. Wish I could run into him and show him what a beta could do. Sad fact is, a lot of women like these alpha morons, showing their lack of good sense, and they mate with these types, and like Corey says, the smart woman looks for a good genetic male to have children with, saying in effect, that the other 97% have defective children, and that only the children from alpha males are superior offspring. People made this egotist a millionaire, and although some of his book, borrowed from other authors, tells how to treat the women you get well, his agenda is to have sex with as many as possible, pointing out that a lot of women are defective also. He hasn't had a successful relationship in his life, meaning one that went the distance. A lot of us haven't also, until we find the right match, but many of us are looking for a woman to stay with, and not just as an object to be used, cook, clean, take care of the kids, while he has others on the side. A man can take care of more than one woman? Yes, he can buy a few to keep around, that is, if they're willing to be one of many and not just one special one that has all of his love and commitment. Being on a show shows what he is, and hopefully as many women as possible can be shown this, so they can see what a true "alpha" male is.

Not 4th anything. But when I'm with someone, she's the only one. I was replying to his chauvinistic comments.

Gotta love people who are so incredibly insecure that they can't state that their opinions are simply their own, but have to claim that, "everyone else thinks the same, they're just too afraid to admit it."

No, mate. You're the one who's afraid.

I thought this was about a racist insult when i saw the picture.

Watched the video with keen interest.

Observations...

20 out of the 30 women dropped out almost immediately after the initial introduction and greeting, long before he started voicing his chauvinistic views. They gave reasons like "I don't like the way he talks", "he shook my hand too hard" It looks like the contestants had a chance to meet one another before the show was taped, so maybe they had a chance to size the guy up beforehand.

Interesting that his Thai language skills seemed to have almost worked against him. He was able to communicate very effectively, but the women seemed to really be turned off by his controlling behavior. It started with him saying he didn't like it when the woman listened to loud music, which seemed to really turn off almost all the women, sort of an "anti-sanook" vibe.

Even though his Thai was very fluent and colloquial, in my opinion, it was rather working or lower class and did not have the hallmarks of being from a well-to-do family. He didn't have that polite, soft-spoken, considered delivery that many Thai women seem to find attractive. Because of this, I have a suspicion that there may have been a bias against him as being the off-spring of a foreign father who had a liaison with a sex-worker.

If anyone wants to study what Thai female body language looks like when they don't like what they're hearing, go to the 31 minute mark of the video. It's quite educational.

But what I found most interesting was how universally his chauvinistic attitudes went over like a lead balloon. I keep hearing on this forum how Thai women are submissive and eager to wait on their man hand and foot. It's simply not true. That guy would be branded as immature, and almost a scary psycho control freak by the vast majority of Thai women I've ever encountered. I suppose there might be a few women out there who might find his demeanor attractive, but they're few and far between. I can't think of any local women I know who would put up with that type of behavior.

Bang on the money. I keep saying this time and time again, yet so many foreigners here remain incredibly delusional and seem to think that most Thai women are going to fall at their feet. It's mostly only the poorer Thai women who want to marry a farang in order to improve their lives. The truth is, the majority of Thai womwen would much rather just date a Thai man, or even the likes of Korean guys which would be far higher up on their list.
