Popular Post spidermike007
This is outstanding news. But, are you going to fulfill your pledge to support the election results? That means allowing enough of your fake senators to vote for Pita. Remember? You will be remembered for alot of reasons. Few of them are good. Your legacy is very tarnished. And many wonder the extent of the theft you engaged in. If we know anything about you, it is that you are NOT a man of integrity. 3 2 1

Many posters dont seem to recognise the difficult politics of this region, and while the Prayut "co-allition" government was fraught with problems, most of it derived from the individual ministers, Mr Watch, Mr Pot, etc who luckily did not do well in the last election but are still in there pulling strings. You want to blame people, get your aim right. The army instituted the coup to bring stability to Thailand. Look back at who caused the problems. Prayut stepped down from the army, formed a civilian government (not much to work with) and ran an election that was peaceful and allowed a popular movement to succeed (hopefully). Now compare that with Thailand's neighbours. Cambodia !! Myanma!!!!!!. Laos!!!! As an individual, Khun Prayut seems to me to be a genuine person who can be proud that he has allowed Thailand to take small steps forward in it's politics. It remains to be seen whether the darker forces will allow it to proceed. 1 3 4 2

I agree, if your hope is for a better existence for the Thai. They are continuing to suffer in ways that are immeasurable and would be intolerable for most foreigners. When their lot has been improved, perhaps then our hemming and hawing will not seem quite so absurd. We had a choice as to our whereabouts; it’s quite another matter for those who have had none.

Mr Dome
While he's just a symptom of the perpetually dysfunctional state of politics in the kingdom, the country sure deserved better than him. And with TS threaten to return the next military coup is already pre-programmed, should he follow through. Jay yen yen, Thailand.

Some people it seems have made an emotional investment in the new government. But I too think we should wait and see--especially on immigration issues that might directly have an effect on us. By no means do I think some guy is a savior for Thailand simply because he's youngish, smiles a lot, and seems to edge towards the West. I remain concerned that China will continue to pull the strings, here. And that's not good for anybody, Thai or foreign. By all means give the new government a chance. But when it comes to immigration I just hope they keep their hands off and let it remain as is. No changes.
