PHEU THAI LEADER Chonlanan Srikaew today (June 21) said he will immediately spurn possible offers for him to assume the House Speaker seat.

During today’s partisan workshop for all 141 Pheu Thai MPs at a Bangkok hotel, Chonlanan said he will unreluctantly reject offers of the House Speaker seat for which he might possibly be named during the first House meeting speculated early next month.

The Pheu Thai leader would ultimately prefer the public health portfolio of a cabinet much rather than the House Speaker seat, given his private profession as a doctor, a partisan source said.

A faction of PT led by Adisorn, are insisting PT get the House Speaker's post, even though they know full well Pita has little hope of becoming PM due to the Senate.

Watch out MF, PT will get the two most important posts in spite of coming second.

Appears that's gonna be the outcome.

Things aren't really working out well for MV/Pita.....

I don't know what the procedure is if the House Speaker resigns or dies. I presume there is a new election for the position or perhaps one of the deputies takes over. Either way, there is a solution.

MF take the post and if Pita is elected to be PM then the MF House Speaker resigns and MF vote for PTs choice.

Any candidates for the Speaker position will face blistering attacks (personal, legal), and would likely not pass a first vote.

This is the first crucial step in forming a government. The powers that be will make every effort to stop MFP/PTP at this stage.

If someone, somehow were to pass a vote, they will have a MASSIVE target on their back.

You need someone with parliamentary experience, like years and years, in this position.
