Korn Chatikavanij has resigned as leader of the Chart Pattana Kla party to spend more time with his family.

In his Facebook post today (Sunday), Korn said he met with party chairman Suwat Liptapallop last week to submit his resignation letter.

As former leader of the Chart Pattana Kla party, Korn thanked the people who voted for them in the May 14th general election and vowed to support the policies in their election manifesto.

Throughout his 18 years in politics, he said he felt honoured to have served the people and the country. While pointing out that Thailand still has many problems waiting to be addressed, he offered moral support to all politicians, especially to new MPs, with advice to keep their egos in check and to be more discreet in the performance of their duties.

Good.

He belongs on the scrap heap with Abhisit.

Both betrayed the people and democracy.

Both, when in a position to do the right thing and act honourably, didn’t.

Both have blood on their hands.

One of too many scallywags amongst Thai politicians.

He won't be missed....

They were very inefficient and are WEF people...but they do not have bloods on their hands

He's slippery. And while he wasn't charged and convicted like the Suthep Gang, he did attend the Bangkok Shutdown protests and called for the the Yingluck administration to resign and for Parliament to be dissolved.

He'll neve be able to get rid of the stench.

Believe me, he'll be back at the first scent of unrest.

what is wrong with that.....all over the world we have protests calling for resigns and new elections.

Korn was actually a good finance minister but his unholy alliance with a old fashioned gangster politician ended in predictable failure. It didn't help that Korn was blacklisted by MFP rank and file for supporting Prayut to be PM in 2019.

I guess he is now talking to Abhisit about a joint come back to the Democrats. That would involve him playing second fiddle to Abhisit again but better than sitting out in the cold.

I doubt that Abhisit can win any Democrat voter back. He was a very weak prime minister.
