A trans man attracted to men.

In other words born female transitioning to male attracted to males.

I knew that, but what might the proper lingo be, that's what the topic is.

When they are admitted to the hospital, what gender should be used?

So gay men aren't purely men?!?

In the same way that a trans man is purely a man?

If one is a man, why must it be prefaced with something?

If you're a man, just call yourself a man and be done with it. Why should you being gay make any difference to me?

Trans people need a prefix, so seeing non-trans people without a prefix makes them feel bad.

It's quite trendy to view straight White men as being some kind of evil supervillain these days, so any opportunity to deride them in some way cannot be resisted.

Sounds a bit straight to me.  Female at birth attracted to males.

Simply enjoys crossdressing.

I am still trying to figure out how the patient is not best served when they are identified by the sex they were born into.

This whole thing is just an excuse for the letter brigade to cry "we are being victimised"!

If they would just shut up and get on with their lives among whichever letter group they want to mix with and leave the rest of us in peace the better!

What they want is free "gender affirming care" i.e. mutilation.

Remember when it was all about not being a choice? That's how it was sold. Now it's all about having others pay for them to choose.

They.

All the same.

That's the ticket.

Same reason people say straight men.

And ramming their "look at me I'm special/differently lettered!

Why can't they stay amongst their own crowd and leave the majority of the world in peace?

These people who want straight men and straight women to adopt a pointless and unnecessary word (cisgender). That's what I assumed when he said 'these people'.

What did you assume?

Cisgender is about gender identity not sexual orientation.

They have never properly explained why they invented the new word(s) or letters or why people who object to and/or hate those words/letters/descriptions are expected to just accept them.

Why cant they just use their terminology amongst themselves and leave us out of it?

As far as I am concerned they can stick their "Cis" type words and letters etc back in the closet where they should never have been allowed to escape from.

They can do what they want as far as I am concerned, call themselves what they want, but don't call me by their derogatory and insulting terminology!

No wonder people are now creating barriers against them, (as I think the OP was about?) especially the way they are repeating their tirades on here!

There is nothing derogatory about the word cisgender. It is a neutral descriptive scientific word.

Perhaps, but not to anything I asked.

If you don't know why not just say you don't know, no shame in that.

It did answer your question.

I'm not in control of other people's comprehension competence.

Cisgender means not transgender and is not in any conceivable way a slur.

But this has made me wonder is there a word that means not transgender that IS a slur?

If so, I do not know it.

If you know such a word, please post it.

There is at least one slur word for straight and many many slur words for gay.

But we're talking about gender identity here, not sexual orientation.

This discussion made me think of the word goy vs. gentile which both mean non-Jew.

Goy, unfortunately can be taken as derogatory. But gentile cannot.

Cisgender meaning not transgender is equivalent to gentile meaning non-Jew.

I hear hysterical reactions claiming cisgender is a slur. It absolutely 100 percent is not and those reacting that it is may be advised to look at themselves and why they think such an objectively FALSE thing.

But there are already words for non-Transgender people. Men and Women.

Can you please explain why we should not just call them men and women?
