I did not even get a slip or anything, even after asking, they only said, come back next week I imagine myself going next week and nobody knows anything about this paper and I have to re-apply... I stated to open a bank account... my dear bank where I am client for years, even with CC and all, want this stupid paper to able me to open a savings account... Oh, and they asked which bank ? I was thinking... wth... what if bank xyz still refuse to open my account... you know the red tape, so I cannot even go try to another bank... 2023, they can send 90 day report back by mail in a return envelope stamped, but a certificate of residence cannot be mailed nor can it be applied for online... happy times at immigration... only wasted a few hours today and same same next week they really think we have nothing better to do with our time and money 2 1 3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

He requires a certificate of residence. The last account I opened I used a pink ID. BUT it was with a bank I already had an account with. I do not think I ever had to provide a C of R to the bank. Also rental agreement ( can't recall if that was even necessary. Kasikorn bank. At the same time Bangkok Bank straight up refused even with my non O. They wanted certificate of residence or letter from embassy. This was all in Bangkok. Things have changed a LOT even in last several months. Perhaps now not even possible to open bank account with visa exempt stamp. Even places such as Jomtien requiring COR. The issue in Bangkok (at CW) is to obtain COR you need to have made a TM47. Not possible on tourist visa. BTW for TDL the transport offices require a COR. Thinking previously Pink ID cut it. The added scrutiny seems to be down to money laundering laws. Mine has the 13 digit pink id number as the ID no., on it. As for your peristance about the non O Extension Thai wife until recently to open a bank account, i don't agree as the conditions on the SCB havent changed. A non O and eg rental agreement would have been sufficient. In fact the non O alone would cut it with some banks. I opened new account with Kasikorn (yes 2 years ago) With pp. I'm on extensions from non O. Had a lease and TM47 . From memory were not looked at.
