Chinese Man Awoken By Thief In His Central Pattaya Hotel Room

Featured Replies

A bizarre case of robbery now from a Hotel located on the Central Pattaya Road near the Sukumvit Road which was investigated by Police Lieutenant Colonel Sawai from Pattaya Police Station. He made his way to room number 204 at the Hotel at 6.30 on Monday Morning and spoke with the room occupant, Mr. Jan Ming Hai aged 40 from China. He explained to Police that he was awoken by a Thai man who was seen rummaging through his possessions as Mr. Hai was sleeping. The point of entry for the suspected thief was the balcony of this 2nd floor hotel room.

As Mr. Hai awoke, he shouted out and the thief quickly jumped off the balcony and ran away towards the Sukumvit Road. Traces of his blood were found on the balcony due to an injury sustained during his rapid exit according to Police. A total of 40,000 Baht in cash, a credit card and a mobile phone were stolen. A vague description of the suspect was given to Police who have requested the Hotel to review their security arrangements with some urgency.
