Two Girls Robbed While Eating A Snack In Front Of Their House In Pattaya

Featured Replies

Two girls had the misfortune, while eating a snack of grilled pork outside their house, to fall foul of a teenage gang pretending to ask for directions, who then pulled out guns, robbed them and rode away.

Responding to a distress call about the robbery, on 9th July, at 05.00 AM, Pol.Maj.Somphol Nakkam, the investigatoing officer, went to Maxim Gardens, Soi Pratamnak. He found the victims, Miss Nual-along Grumram (26) from Prakonchai, Burirum province and Miss Pratumporn Pratumma (22) Nongkae, Saraburi province badly shaken by their experience. They told Pol.Maj.Somphol that they were eating grilled pork in front of their house from where they sold drinks, in the company of Miss Pratumporn’s brother.

A gang of teenagers came by on motorbikes, but initially passed them by. Shortly after, Miss Pratumporn’s brother went upstairs to bed and left the two girls sitting there alone. Then the motorcycle gang reappeared. There were 4 of them, aged between 18 and 20, wearing crash helmets to cover their faces. They stopped and came to ask for directions to the beach, ostensibly to look for a friend.

Suddenly, two of them pulled out guns and grabbed Miss Nual-anong and Miss Pratumporn throwing them into the house where the ladies hit a pot of grilled pork and sustained injuries.

The criminals then pulled down the house shutters to prevent them from escaping. Two of them pointed guns at the girls’ heads, grabbed the girls’ necks and made as if to pistol-whip them. In the meantime, the rest of the gang attempted to grab any valuable items to hand. During this time, Miss Pratumporn was screaming for help, expecting her brother to hear her, but to no avail. Hearing her distress, the criminals appeared slightly scared, opened the shutters and escaped on motorbikes.

The criminals had managed to steal Miss Pratumporn’s black purse containing 1,000 baht, a Samsung mobile phone that she had bought for 12,000 baht and some documents before her brother came downstairs to help.

Sadly, the police weren’t able to catch the criminals as they had completely disappeared by the time the law arrived. However, the victims were able to recognise the faces of the criminals and the police later took them to the police station to make a sketch of the gang-members. The police are following up the case.
