redwood1
https://www.pattayamail.com/news/pattaya-and-toyota-collaborate-to-build-sustainable-smart-city-435050 First question.....Who the heck is going to be paying for a fleet of new baht buses..It sure will not be the divers.....I bet these cost at least 2-3 million a pop with the customizing.. Look at the size of the guys standind.....Then put them in the seats.....2 of these guys would just about take up one side.......(or 3 smaler people) Notice this is not a full bed pick-up like the current baht buses use, this is a short bed pick-up that would hold a lot less people.... Notice how the current baht buses are painted blue and the seats are blue..... Why? Because blue hides the dirt and they never look all that dirty.... Notice the new baht buses.....The color is white on white on white.....I guarantee these baht buses will look filthy in no time... Even if the drivers were given the baht buses 100% free, I think the drivers would be making a lot less money due to the new baht buses small size... So in turn the price to ride the baht bus would have to go up up..... Edited July 4, 2023 by redwood1 1

Popular Post actonion
The Electric company in Thailand really does'nt need an extra load like Electric vehicles, they cant maintain a domestic Electric supply without many power cuts especially during the up coming rain season... 2 4 1
Popular Post bkk6060
The current ones are filthy dangerous gas guzzlers. And, I think they should be banned in certain areas especially Soi Buakhao where they constantly stop and jam up traffic on a one lane road. 2 3 1
Popular Post brianthainess
Yeh that'd work driving around all night lights on, in rain using wipers, even using indicators some times, and of course the horn tooting, a/c /fan in the cabin. What could possibly go wrong 61CwwjmXXML._AC_UL400_.webp Edited July 4, 2023 by brianthainess 2
Popular Post sirineou
How many Baht bushes are in Pattaya? I honestly don't know , but I am willing to bet that they will not even put a dent in the pollution problem , Probably counteract two or three people burning trash. I am a big proponent of the electrification of our transportation system, but this IMO is political grandstanding and lip service. If they want to reduce emissions they should implement a program subsidising EV purchases.
liddelljohn
When the battery explodes like a 500kg bomb and the subsequent fire is not extinguishable I reckon there will be some nice redevelopment plots in pattaya and of course the loss of a few tourists and peasant drivers wont hurt business 2 1

I Patts was forward thinking, they'd simply set up a revolving looping monorail/tram route along beach road (all of) and half of 2nd Road, and limit those sections to the tram, bicycle, ebikes/scooter & walking. NO ICE vehicles. Couple large parking garages outside the main, w/ shuttle service to the tram. Obviously city planning is not their forte'. 2

Popular Post NoDisplayName
This is deleted ridiculous. How 'bout set up a public transportation system like other third world countries? Why depend on untrained, unlicensed, anybody's second cousin with an old beater pickup to haul the public. Really. It's not that hard to set up a public bus system. Forget the monorails and futuristic semi-bulletproof EV Tesla moontrucks and just have the city buy some small 17-seater short-buses that will easily fit on the roads, and hire and train municipal employee bus drivers. Heck, if Myanmar can do it...... No, that's not complicated enough. We're wanna be the hub of hubs of Asian space exploration instead. 4 1

Old or misadjusted injectors. Some just need cleaning and have an easy fix, with an additive to prevent, but, that would cut into profits. What does the driver care for, the smoke is behind him. Diesel should have been banned decades ago, as a direct link to negative health issues.

For a mere 20 (?) baht, beats walking in the pollution, heat & humidity, if that's your only convenant transport.
