Hair Color & Ethnicity

So my Thai son now has a one year old baby, with his American wife.

He seems to have inherited red hair from her grandad

Skin color is all my son's Thai/Hispanic Mom & Dad, so talk about how wonderful the mixing of races can be.

He'll grow up as a tribute to all of his heritage

Culture is important.

Color and ethnicity are not.

I'd like to believe that, but color does matter.

I hope my Grandson is born into world where color doesn't matter so much.

But I fear the same cr***p I grew up with as an Hispanic kid at college still exists,

But as a red headed Hispanic/Thai boy, he'll be a hit with the ladies for sure

I have always been less interested in head-hair color, and far more interested in cross-sectional shape of head hair.

I will attach an image to demonstrate the three basic shapes.

What do you think?

If you could choose for yourself, which shape would you opt for?

Ethnicity is important, it influences our diet, behavior, language etc. I learnt this in providing good health care services and traveling.  When people are sick or emigrate they lean towards it.

Why do most Farangs want bacon and eggs for breakfast, or Sunday roasts in Thailand, for example??

"Take a pinch of white man
Wrap him up in black skin
Add a touch of blue blood
And a little bitty bit of red Indian boy
Oh like a Curly Latin kinkies
Oh Lordy, Lordy, mixed with yellow Chinkees, yeah
You know you lump it all together
And you got a recipe for a get along scene
Oh what a beautiful dream
If it could only come true, you know, you know

What we need is a great big melting pot
Big enough enough enough to take
The world and all its got And keep it stirring for a hundred years or more
And turn out coffee coloured people by the score

Rabbis and the friars
Vishnus and the gurus
We got the Beatles or the Sun God
Well it really doesn't matter what religion you choose
And be thankful little Mrs. Graceful
You know that livin' could be tasteful
We should all get together in a lovin machine
I think I'll call up the queen
It' s only fair that she knows, you know, you know

What we need is a great big melting pot
Big enough enough enough to take
The world and all its got And keep it stirring for a hundred years or more
And turn out coffee coloured people by the score"

"Melting Pot", Blue Mink, 1969.

what you eat is decided by culture, not ethnicity.
