Trump Urges Israel to Strike Iran’s Nuclear Facilities
I suggest you read this interview of a renowned US(Jewish) professor, maybe the leading expert on Israel/Palestine. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/may/17/university-protests-gaza-norman-finkelstein I believe that a political slogan should be as clear and succinct as possible, to allow for no wiggle room that can be misinterpreted and exploited by the other side. “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” is a slogan that gives the other side a lot of room to exploit. “What do you mean by Palestine will be free? Do you mean there is no room for Israel?” There is public consciousness at this point that there’s something wrong with a state which privileges Jews. As B’Tselem, the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories, put it, there’s only one state from the river to the sea – meaning the West Bank, Israel and Gaza. There’s one state, and it is anchored in the principle of Jewish supremacy. However you cut it, Jews have more rights in that state. To that extent, I have no problem with saying, “We can’t countenance that.” But as you already said, “Palestine will be free” can also mean something else. It can fit into what’s called the settler colonial framework, which basically says, “Settlers do not have legitimate rights to the land. The land belongs to those who are ‘Indigenous’ to it. And everybody else, at most, can live there on the sufferance of the Indigenous majority, or they have to pack up and leave.” And the reason that slogan is ambiguous is because the movement is ambiguous about what its goal is. And if you try to remove the ambiguity, you risk breaking up the movement. So what do you do? You could limit yourself to simple demands, which everybody can agree on – namely, “permanent ceasefire”. During the war in Vietnam, there were two slogans at the end. One was “out now” – meaning “all the troops, out now”. It was a very simple slogan, and it united people. The other slogan was “sign the treaty” [to end the war]. Those slogans reduced the point of unity to the common denominator. Another possibility is to risk fragmentation by fighting it out. And a third is constructive ambiguity. Amend the slogan to: “From the river to the sea, Palestinians will be free.” It doesn’t endorse one state, it doesn’t endorse two states. It doesn’t say: “All Jews have to go.” It doesn’t say: “Jews can stay.” It just doesn’t imply: “We’re trying to get rid of Jews.” For me, the ideal slogan would actually be: “From the river to the sea, one person, one vote, Palestinians will be free.” -

Tm47 online submission "rejected"
I mailed (EMS) in mid-August (with the form, copies of passport picture, and visa/entry stamps, and return envelope with postage) to CW. I've heard nothing since. Am out of country now, so we'll have to try again upon return (+89 days). Anyone else had similar experiences with mailing these in? -

Calamity of voter fraud found! -- it's the immigrant wife of a Republican Cong. candidate
I see / can find no outcome in court of the above case.... But I did find the following filed by the same Queens D.A.: Campaign volunteers indicted in Queens voter fraud scheme July 29, 2024 Six campaign volunteers, including the daughter of a City Council candidate in Queens, were indicted Thursday on voter fraud charges for allegedly submitting bogus absentee ballots, officials said. The suspects were charged with trying to rig a Council race for Republican candidate Yu-Ching James Pai, who was running in a June 2023 primary for the District 20 Council seat in Queens. ... The allegations revolve around a plot to submit fraudulent absentee ballot applications to boost Pai’s campaign. https://www.nydailynews.com/2024/07/25/campaign-volunteers-indicted-in-queens-voter-fraud-scheme/ -

IRAN ATTACKS ISRAEL
The presence of U.S.N serves to amplify tensions rather than promote stability. Yes, the U.S. positions its military as a deterrent against perceived threats from Iran, but it overlooks the broader implications of its action. Look at what happened in Lebanon in 1982. Hezbollah was formed partly in response to the U.S. military presence in Lebanon. Following the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982, which was supported by the U.S., many Lebanese, particularly Shiites, felt marginalized and vulnerable. The presence of foreign troops, especially the U.S. Marines deployed to stabilize the situation, was viewed as an occupation. Does Lebanon not have the right to defend itself? This is going to end badly for the US and Israel. Iran will be the winners. Here's a good video by a renowned US professor talking about how Iran are the big winners, -

Polvanera 17 Primitivo DOP Gioia del Colle: Bringing Puglia's Masterpiece to Thailand
Thank you for your laudation of the Primitivo variety of Italian red wines. I have currently seven different brands of Primitivo in my cellar where I live in northern Italy, of which three are from Puglia but, alas, none is a Polvanera 17. If the number 17 in the brand name is the vintage, that mekes it 2017, ideal to drink now. Did anthing come of the talk about reducing or abolishing import duty and/or exise tax on imported alcoholic beverages in Thailand to attract more high-spending tourists? At what price does the Polvanera 17 Primitivo currently sell in Thailand? Where can it be bought? -

Calamity of voter fraud found! -- it's the immigrant wife of a Republican Cong. candidate
And now just this week in Michigan, we have the Democrat attorney general filing felony criminal charges against four voters accused of attempted double voting in this year's presidential primary, and against three city clerk staff who allegedly facilitated the alleged fraud -- which a Republican county prosecutor had declined to pursue. 7 people face felony charges in double voting incident in St. Clair Shores October 4, 2024 (CBS DETROIT) - Seven people, including four voters, face felony charges in an alleged double voting incident in Michigan's August 2024 primary election, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced Friday morning. The incident involves four St. Clair Shores residents flagged for submitting two ballots in the primary election on Aug. 6. According to Nessel, each person voted by absentee ballot, returned their ballot and then voted in person at their polling location on election day. In three of the four cases, voters signed an affidavit saying they had not received an absentee ballot despite completing and returning one, Nessel said. Election workers informed the voters that their absentee ballots had already been received but were allegedly instructed by assistant clerks to override the system and issue in-person ballots. ... In August, Macomb County Prosecutor [Republican] Peter Lucido declined to authorize charges against the four voters, saying an investigation showed that the "appropriate mechanisms functioned as intended to detect the issue," and that his office "concluded probable cause did not exist to believe that a crime had occurred." (more) https://www.cbsnews.com/detroit/news/dana-nessel-announces-felony-election-law-violations/ Michigan attorney general charges 7 over double voting in Macomb County ... In a statement, Lucido said he respects the Attorney General's "jurisdiction and investigatory resources." "It is not unusual for the Attorney General to charge criminal cases in which a local prosecutor did not," Lucido added. "I expect justice will be served. I have no further comment on this ongoing case." But Christina Hines, the prosecutor's Democratic opponent in the Nov. 5 election, said "it is unacceptable that our elected Prosecutor chose not to even investigate this case" and argued it showed Lucido is unqualified to hold office. there are plans for expansion with whole other duplicate 'south terminal' and satellite terminals, one of which was only just needed now, why should they build everything out decades ago?
