It appears that some Thais haven't got the message yet. In this era, votes for pro-democracy platforms and politicians go directly into the bin. The reasons for this cannot even be discussed openly, because they'll be censored.

The only change now in the works is that the powers-that-be understand that the military minions can't make the economy run well enough to keep discontent at bay. That opens the door for one Tony Woodhouse to return to revive the country's economic engine as long as he drops all democratic pretense and allows junta parties a share of the power (such as interior ministry) to continue to suppress the population (freedom of speech, access to foreign media, and so on). 

Unfortunately for Thailand, ultra-conservative politics and Thaksin-omics (sponsored by...) may very well prove to be a stable configuration, with majority support. It all comes down to how pragmatic the remaining PT voters, who have not yet been siphoned off by MF, are.

The right thing would be to eliminate the 250 UNELECTED senators that the junta appointed and then proceed with the PM vote.  The junta ILLEGALLY assumed power and then ILLEGALLY appointed senator flunkies to enable them to block any and all attempts to strip them of power regardless of the voters.  Those unelected flunkies no doubt love their place at the trough.

 

  Rich that they are blocking PITA over owning a few shares of media stock but nobody blocks or penalizes the coup leaders for rolling tanks in middle of night and then changing all the rules.

Problem is if this minority group has the PM seat in May '24 how much say / power do they have to nominate the new Senators?
But, even if PTP gets the PM then the minister seats will go to the parties that joined them and PTP may not have the power to nominate the new Senators either.

The matter of the senators will need to pass the house of representatives. This cannot be achieved with a minority govt. The goal must be to have no nominated senators at all. PT must not join with the military. It's Thailand's only hope of progression. Keep parliament in limbo until the dinasaurs are booted out nxt yr.

PT wants power. To bring back their criminal leader and to make money. Those are the only two priorities for them.
