At approximately 4:30 PM on August 14, 2023, Police Lieutenant Thongdao Kote, in charge of the Muang Rayong Police Station, received a report from tourists about a corpse floating near the cliff at Laem Charoen Beach, Pak Nam Sub-district, Mueang District, Rayong Province.

Medical personnel from Rayong Hospital, along with investigative officers and the Sawang Phak Kusol Rescue Unit, rushed to the scene.

Upon arrival, they discovered tourists and locals gathered at the shoreline, near the rocky cliff, where the body of a man was spotted, reported Siam Rath.

He was wearing blue shorts and had a heavily decomposed appearance, making it difficult to determine any injuries. A tattoo was found on his chest, but due to skin deterioration, its details were unclear.

The man's approximate height was 190 cm, and he seemed to have been deceased for about 10 days before being transported to Rayong Hospital for further examination.

According to accounts from tourists and locals, they had initially mistaken the body for a floating doll while observing the sea from the shore, about 50 meters away.

As the body drifted closer to the rocky cliff, emitting a foul odor, they approached and realized it was a corpse. Authorities suspect the deceased might be a foreign national, considering his height, but the cause of death remains under investigation.

They are coordinating with nearby accommodations to determine if anyone has been reported missing. Relatives looking for missing persons are advised to check Rayong Hospital and Muang Rayong Police Station for further information.
