The video of a posh sedan owner brandishing a pistol to threaten repossession officials, before speeding off, became viral.

 

On August 18th, a video shared by Twitter user ‘Red Skull’ showed a debt collection agency attempting to seize a luxurious car due after consecutive defaults on instalment payments, only to be threatened by the debtor who fled the scene in his vehicle.

As shown in the clip, the finance company’s staff were preparing to seize a red Mustang, affixing papers on the car’s doors, front and rear hoods, as well as the fuel tank. This process is intended to prepare the vehicle for repossession and deter any unauthorized use. Unpredictably, the car’s owner arrived at the scene, ripped off the papers stuck on one of the doors, displayed a pistol, and sped away.

Tow trucks work better than tape... where were the RTP... if I were taping someone's car and that someone may appear at any time I would have backup.

I doubt that there is any police force in the world that assigns a police officer to every Repo operation. Repo is a civil matter, not criminal.

Not heard of wheel clamps then. 

The debtor fled the scene?

Reckon I would have fled the scene if I was the debt collector(s).

Not too interested on a gun being waved in my face.

Possibly a case of "Do you know who I am?"????????

I think they tape/seal it prior to towing so the the “owner” can’t come back and claim things are missing or damaged.

He isn't rich because he couldn't make the payments. He just liked to pretend that he is.

Surely silly strips of masking tape can only antagonize? Not a wise action here.

Plus, owner returns, removes tape and items or the entire car, retapes and claims missing items and/or stolen car, really daft approach.

Either arrive ready to clamp/tow or use proper security tape that shows tampering.

 

Note to repo-men. Masking tape is designed to be removed without leaving marks. ????????‍♂️

Base mustang B 3.7 million, 100k down, loan for 7 years at 7% puts monthly at about B64k.

Culprit will face no repercussions.

He will deny that he did it,...then after the evidence is shown, he will claim it was a fake gun which he dumped in the river.

Come to think of it, it might have been a fake one anyway.

No he did not...

IMHO the debtor could be described as a fee'jit.

 

Not only because the car was bought more for face than anything else, for carrying a gun in a public place, but for threatening the repo guy and being filmed and posted on the social media.
