Cyber-crime police warn public about “digital wallet” scam

Thailand’s Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) has warned members of the public not to fall victim to scammers sending short messages (SMS), informing them that they now have access to the 10,000 baht subsidy, under the “digital wallet” scheme, and should contact officials.

International motorcycle gang and Indonesian drug syndicate nabbed in Thailand crackdown

An international motorcycle gang and a major Indonesian drug gang, both of whom had fled to Thailand, have been apprehended in a sweeping operation by the Thai Immigration Bureau (IB). The series of arrests also included the capture of a notorious human trafficking network operating in the Sa Kaeo province.

A dramatic scene in Bangkok’s Bang Bon district on a Thursday morning saw a chemical tank at Chalermchaicharn Co, a printing ink factory, suddenly erupted in an explosive burst. This chemical tank explosion incident, although unsettling, thankfully did not result in any significant injuries or fatalities.

Motorcycle driver charged after road rage incident with bus in Phuket

A heated altercation between a tour bus driver and a Grab motorcycle driver yesterday led to police intervention on the main route through Pa Khlok, Phuket. The incident, which took place near the PTT petrol station, resulted in the bus driver’s side window being shattered.

Whale of a surprise: Rare humpback sighting stuns off Phuket’s coast

The incredibly rare sight of a humpback whale was spotted off the coast of Phuket this morning. Charoen Chanaphon, a tour boat operator, reported the unusual encounter. Sailing from Phuket towards Phi Phi island around 11.45am today, he noticed the majestic mammal. The tour boat operator did not confirm if any tourists were present on the boat during the whale’s sighting.

The near-death experience of an unidentified man was shared by a train driver on the Captain in Train Facebook page. The video showed a mysterious man standing on the train tracks, apparently hoping to be hit. The driver, Choonya Sathiranon and his colleague Thepnurak Choochuai, working in the Hat Yai district, Songkhla, South Thailand were operating express train number 169 when they spotted the man standing in the middle of the tracks.

A Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) employee was accused of being drunk and disorderly at the wheel after causing an accident while driving an official company car. Several broken bottles of wine were found inside the woman’s vehicle after the accident.

Phayao government official under investigation for accident involving state vehicle

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) ordered an investigation into a government official in Phayao province. The woman in question was caught using a state vehicle for personal use. The government official may have escaped with the abuse of state property for personal use, except that, while driving the car, she crashed the vehicle.
