So are you saying that any poster cannot ask for information about say Blind Massage P'lok, or Window Tinting in Pattaya etc etc.

We were in here on Saturday, decent food, great river views, no tourists.

Hey, Crossy, you forgot all her requirements...

"please include these requirements
1 Name of place in english & Thai
2 Location of restuarant, including Adress
3 some details about the restaurant"

Kidding, that's not a criticism of a mod!

Not at all - but first post after registration asking for a list with Thai/English names seems a bit much,

What are first posts restricted to, then?  Could she have posted it as her second post, would that be ok with you?

She just asked one question, you're not forced to respond to it!

She can use Google Translate as well as anyone ????

She would need to anyway, the menu is Thai only and no pictures.

Or even where to but shoe laces in Tak.????

But the guy's post about where to buy Karting supplies in Thailand was deleted along with my two replies.

So without pics, how do you know if the stuff is gross or not before you order it? ????

I don't think a picture tells you if it is gross or not, when you get it in your gob is the time to reflect............????

The ads on TV make me smile regarding a Big Mac, etc....

Not necessarily, no.

What a strange question.

So you saying my dinner made with locally grown beef and vegetables is not Thai food either ?

Raw ingredients -Thailand grown.

Home kitchen - Thailand.

Gas for stove - purchased Thailand.

Condiments - Purchased Thailand.

Fuel in car to buy the above - Purchased Thailand.

Etc Etc Etc - Purchased Thailand.

Lots of Thai in the above... but not a thai dish.... how bizarre.

I'm saying that a restaurant selling western food is not a Thai restaurant, regardless of where it's located or where it sources it's ingredients from.

And if you cook a pizza from food sourced here, it is not a Thai meal.

In very much the same way that the Australian Embassy in Bangkok is not a "Thai embassy".

Well of course, because the embassy was not sourced here.

Was the embassy built from imported materials? If so, it was a bad example. Sorry about that. It was an example that I picked out on-the-spot.

Choose another embasy that was built from local materials and apply the same rule, then.

Op asked specifically for 'Local Thai Restaurant'.... Not Local Restaurant in Thailand.

Thai Restaurant - Restaurant that sells Thai food.

Local Thai Restaurant - Restaurant that sells Thai food (near you in Thailand).

Local Restaurant - Restaurant (near you in Thailand) that sells any food.

The assumption with the use of the worth 'local' is that the person responding is in Thailand, otherwise we'd have people such as yourself deliberately obfuscating the issue and listing their 'Local Thai restaurant' in Kentucky (or wherever they are).

You are either deliberately trolling or are genuinely unintelligent.

A Thai Restaurant cooks Thai Cuisine.

A Mexican restaurant in Thailand cooks Mexican Cuisine.
