Two young men in a mysterious sedan pulled up in front of a custom food shop in Nang Rong District, Buri Ram Province.

One of the individuals threw a container filled with acid at a young girl of 18, causing injuries not only to her but also to her grandmother. Authorities suspect that this disturbing incident might have been driven by revenge, likely stemming from feelings of jealousy towards the girl's recent romantic involvement, reported Daily News.

Around 2:00 PM on August 27th, Pol. Lt. Jiraroj Mongkolphonsub, an investigating officer from Nang Rong Police Station, received a report about an acid attack on a young woman in a custom food shop within Nang Rong Municipality. About 500 meters away from the police station, the incident drew the attention of the Siam Rescue Unit, who joined the investigation.

At the scene, three individuals were found injured by acid: Ms. Ta Buaram, 63, the shop owner, sustained skin burns on her arm; Mr. Wiwat Chaketraram, 40, suffered neck burns; and Miss Aum, 18, faced burns on her face and body, with a risk of blindness. The victims were rushed to Nang Rong Hospital and later transferred to Buriram Hospital. Miss Aum's face showed severe burns, obscuring her vision.

During questioning, Miss Ta revealed that the shop was her granddaughter's business. While they were casually chatting with two others, the incident occurred. A white Toyota sedan parked nearby, from which two men in their 40s emerged. One of them carried a plastic container mixed with cement. Without uttering a word, he splashed the mixture on Miss Aum's face and body, then fled.

Authorities believe the assailant might be the new girlfriend of Miss Aum's ex-boyfriend, who was involved in a legal dispute that damaged her phone. The grandmother assumed the attack could be related to that issue.

The police are actively pursuing the case, using CCTV footage to trace the white Toyota sedan without license plates.
