In a profoundly distressing sequence of events, a lifeless 2-year-old boy was brought to a hospital under the guise of a hit-and-run accident, only for the truth to unveil that he had indeed been subjected to gunshot wounds.

This heart-rending incident unfolded on the child's second birthday, reported Siam Rath.

Around 5:30 PM on September 1st, 2023, Superintendent Thanakorn Kaenputhra, the Deputy Head of Investigations at Upotong Police Station in Suphanburi, reported the shooting of a 2-year-old boy.

The child had been accompanied by an enigmatic man who asserted that the boy had fallen victim to a car crash. Yet, upon more meticulous scrutiny, a startling revelation emerged: the child had actually endured gunshot wounds, casting a somber cloud over what was meant to be a joyous event.

Upon arrival at the emergency ward of U Thong Hospital, it was tragically confirmed that the child, known by the pseudonym Gavin, had succumbed to gunshot wounds to his back and chest. The man who had accompanied him had vanished before authorities could initiate their investigation.

Initial findings point to the incident occurring in a bamboo thicket with an unspecified address in Moo 6, Yungtalai Subdistrict, U Thong District. Discovering bullet casings and other relevant evidence, investigators are inclined to suspect foul play.

Family members disclosed that Gavin had been playing with a man named Mr. Lo, who frequently took care of the child. Mr. Lo, aged 43, had reportedly taken Gavin to the thicket for a day out.

Although known to be involved in the child's care, suspicions arise that Mr. Lo mishandled a firearm, inadvertently leading to the tragic loss of Gavin's life. As investigations continue, efforts persist to unearth the truth behind this heartrending incident.
