I don't think Christie has a chance to be nominated.

Nicki Haley as polls now show is the stongest by far to beat Biden but the R's are too dense to abandon their deranged cult leader.

Christie actually is the only gop candidate that  talks a good talk.

He's a sacrificial lamb there to attack Trump which needs to be done of course but it's not going to work to get him nominated.

Funny, yet another anti-Trump story on biased a left wing media platform that fails to even mention what Biden's own what left wing media CNN are now reporting about Biden - the people (Dems) basically think Biden is NOT FIT to be president again or doing an awful job !

From left wing CNN own pages  :

Asked directly about the potential effects of his age, majorities of Democratic-aligned voters say they are seriously concerned that Biden’s age might negatively affect his current level of physical and mental competence (56%), his ability to win the 2024 general election if nominated (60%), and his ability to serve another full term as president if reelected (61%).

But in a break from older partisans, substantial majorities also say that Biden does not inspire confidence (63%), does not have the stamina and sharpness to serve effectively (64%), and that his policies have failed to improve the economy (64%).

CNN is center left actually. MSNBC is left left.

Only if you consider the Dems as being left-wing, which I don't (apart from a particular fringe, AOC etc...).

CNN is 100% pro-capitalism.

Yeah but we're talking American right / left not European.

It's not a sure thing that Harris would get the nomination. There are better candidates out there.

Plus seems to me that the dems need to put forward a totally new slate.

I wonder, is there any Americans on this thread discussing American politics?

Not going to comment on trump, but christie has no room to talk, that pot or kettle thingy.

christie just entering the race to be president, speaks of his mental health.

Just listening to the whole bunch of 'em they all strike me as pretty potty. Though Christie at least seems to have seen the light and ain't afraid to say so.

Wasted time & effect, if you don't have a snowball's chance in hell. He certainly can't run on his record.

I'm waiting on biden to drop out, and harris to be their candidate.  Even saw an op-ed that implied if running against harris, (in primary) if it happened, would be considered racist ????

If President Biden drops out Harris I’m sure would compleat for the nomination im not so sure she would get it.my money would be on Gavin Newsom now that would be an explosive debate humm?Newsom is wicked smart (fact smart) he would eat trump alive!he’s young and dynamic a bit to left for my tastes but definitely better than trump

I think Asa Hutchinson sounds pretty normal. The rest, not so much.

No really Trump mental unstable, must be fake news :crazy:

The GOP has been pushing this "what good is an education?" stance for a while now, Santorum (remember him?) used it as a stick to beat Obama with in 2014.  I think this was their goal: keep people stupid.  My guess is Rove or Gingrich came up with this.

The mental health of the cult leader is certainly in question.  The mental health of the followers needs to be considered apart from any concern for the leader.

If it is the GOP keeping people stupid, then why is it that it the democrats who run the education system almost everywhere in the U.S. of A., are turning out graduates with a substandard education?

Family here in the U.S. of A. has friends who put their daughter through private school up until they could not afford it (I think one or both parents were off work due to democrat forced covid layoffs).   Their daughter started 8th grade last school year (2022) at the nearby high school.   Out of about 25,000 high schools in the U.S. of A., this is supposed to be a high school that is in the top 300.

The daughter was complaining to her mom that everything taught in her 8th grade classes, she had already learned in her 5th and 6th grade classes at the private school!  When mom asked why she didn't have any homework, daughter said she completed her homework assignments in class.    Daughter was getting the highest scores for school work in her classes.

Sub-standard graduates are the results of a decades long development in which both parties have played a role. Trying to 'save money' and also dumb people down unless they pay for private. It's not about Dem/Rep.

The whole country really is potty: 'the Democrats turning out sub-standard etc etc'. No-one seems capable of real political analysis and awareness - and the Rep would-be presidential line-up just confirms that. Those are the nutters that the Reps think will attract your votes. Who you will willingly vote into positions of phenomenal power over you. And then wonder why you're so unhappy.

Meanwhile the Dems are mulling snatching defeat from the jaws of victory by possibly fielding someone called Munchkins (Exhibit A in the evidence about the establishment capture of the Dems) and/or a distant nutcase relative of JFK who's a borderline Trumpist in all but name.

Sad, sad.

Just breathe deeply. In.    Out.    In.     Out.   Relax.

Well that "fringe" needs a serious trim because it is overgrown and leading those traditional Democrats that remain, further and further to the left.

Only in your make-believe world, where your "reality" quickly reveals itself as fantasy.

No, the Democratic party didn't swing to the left. The Republican party did move to the right, first with the tea party, later maga.
