Biden trails Haley, polling neck-and-neck with other Republicans

A new poll from CNN is providing bad news for the White House and President Biden, who scores just a 39 percent approval rating a little more than a year before Election Day.

 

Sixty-one percent disapprove of Biden’s job performance in the poll, and his approval rating is down from 45 percent in CNN’s polling at the beginning of the year.

The poll also finds former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is the only GOP presidential candidate who is leading in a hypothetical matchup with Biden.The CNN poll, conducted by SSRS, found that Haley led Biden 49 percent to 43 percent, while every other major Republican candidate remains neck-and-neck with him. 

Those results are good news for Haley, a former United Nations ambassador under President Trump who is looking to build on a strong performance in the first GOP presidential debate late last month to challenge her former boss for the Republican nomination.

Haley is far behind Trump in polls of Republican primary voters, however, underscoring the uphill climb she faces.

Still, the CNN poll suggests she’d be a better general election GOP nominee against Biden than her competition — a potential talking point as she makes her case in Iowa, New Hampshire and other early primary and caucus states.

A couple other GOP candidates were ahead of Biden in the CNN head-to-head polling.

Perhaps you could also find real promise from the same CNN source that currently has her behind Trump by 45 points. 7 to 52

Well, I'll be sure to take a foreigners critique to heart. The staggering difference between harris and Halley when they speak should be enough to sway most Americans. harris is an embarrassment.

Bill Clinton on Saturday called President Bush the "failed president of a big country" as he sought to blunt expected Republican attacks on him as a "failed governor from a small state."

 

Republicans have been hitting the "failed governor" theme for months and the Democrats are expecting the Bush campaign to use it, perhaps this week as it launches its television advertising.

He was right. Bush was one of a very few presidents ousted after a single term.

You have to be joking. Governor is an executive level position, basically a mini-president. Governors in states like South Carolina literally have the power of life and death (since the state has a death penalty in their criminal code). Governors also control their own military forces (the state National Guard). It is a far more intense and demanding job than a bureaucrat serving UNDER a governor (such as Attorney General).

I'm not sure that "elected official in a state that's bleeding population and tax base on account of poor leadership" is something to run on.  Especially AG, since crime is probably the number one reason for people fleeing to Red states.

Doesn't matter their color, gender, or LGBQ status, as long as they are qualified.

A lot of folks leave ca because it’s more expensive you have to work and earn to keep your head above water that being said the 5th largest economy on the PLANET doesn’t happen because of poor leadership the roads are excellent the infrastructure works it’s beautiful and there is money and opportunity here Kamala Harris was the AG and senator for the state she would be fine lm not sure what the stats between the two states are perhaps some one who is computer savvy could post and make that comparison all of that aside at least mrs Haley seems normal and not a wanna be authoritarian I’m sure she would do a decent job
