nupersoodles
The one I use atm is quite strong, 1.5g of potassium citrate per 5ml of mixture (I take 20ml a day as uric acid kidney stone prevention). Does anyone please know if something like this is available in Thailand, or if not a viable substitute?

Does anyone please know if something like this is available in Thailand, or if not a viable substitute? Do you mean that you take 6gm per day, as in my arithmetic, 20ml / 5ml = 4....x1.5 = 6.? Does it work for gout as that is caused by excess Uric acid? Are kidney and gall stones caused by Uric acid?
Sheryl
Pocitrin taklets here contain 231.5 mg potassium citrate. Available at pharmacies These are compressed tablets not a powder Lazada has what appear to be caspules 99 mg https://www.lazada.co.th/tag/potassium-citrate-now/?exlaz=d_1:mm_150050845_51350204_2010350204::13:12361258253!116250847885!!!dsa-19959388920!c!!!!593083946049!&gclid=CjwKCAjw3oqoBhAjEiwA_UaLtlCyVsH0qVpTwSoNG8SH8z-YWtslQ91vir_W4fpyNo_9S6Boo87AaRoCOgkQAvD_BwE I see some powders on Shoppee but from China and I am not sure can be considered pharmaceutical grade. But if what you already have is liquid, can you not just further dilute it?

Some stones, the ones I've had in the past, are caused by uric acid build-up; but the most common are caused by calcium oxate, iirc, whilst a small portion by struvite or cystine. I'm not qualified to comment on whether or not potassium citrate would work for gout but it's definitely worth looking into given the relation. I also take cherry extract and quercetin supplements, due to tentative reports of them helping with gout - not that I've experienced gout myself (yet). Edit: There's a table here, a bit further down the page, with the relative incidence rate of the different types of stones (calcium phosphate is another one I forgot to mention)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kidney_stone_disease#Diagnosis 1 hour ago, Sheryl said: Pocitrin taklets here contain 231.5 mg potassium citrate. Sorry I should have been clearer, I didn't mean to imply that I require a weaker mixture, only to give an ideaa of the strength I'm actually after due to my doseage requirement. I'm in the UK atm and it might be a bit tricky to bring enough of the mixture back with me to last - the pocitrin might do the trick in a pinch though. Cheers! nupersoodles
Just learnt that Pocitrin also contains 195 mg of sodium citrate which is also good for dissolving uric acid. Also, this may be of interested to @KannikaP https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8213434/
mstevens
This Potassium Citrate powder is available at iHerb. As it is a powder, you can simply mix in the amount of Potassium Citrate you require in to a glass of water. https://www.nowfoods.com/products/supplements/potassium-citrate-powder

NedR69
I'm not sure what this potassium citrate mixture is all about. Is this something you are buying and then mixing it yourself for a health problem? If this is for a documented medical condition, why not get a prescription from you physician and a pharmacy? Brahmz
Potassium citrate is readily available on Lazada. It is sold by the kilo. A uric acid problem is better treated by eliminating red meat from your diet and eating white meat in modest quantities with some fat. That is local pork and chicken. Salmon from Norway is best eaten raw.

I do have a prescription in the UK, but as I said in my original post I wont be able to bring enough back with me to last me the entire time I'm planning to stay in Thailand and I've no idea whether or not a similar product has been approved in Thailand since Google isn't coming up with much (at least in English). 7 hours ago, Sheryl said: Note that this is not pharmaceutical grade. Thanks, I should get some tested in that case before I depart. 7 hours ago, Brahmz said: Potassium citrate is readily available on Lazada. It is sold by the kilo. My specialist gave me the full run-down with regards to diet - I now only eat chicken or certain fish (not too high in purines) one or two meals a week, and have dropped alcohol; sugary drinks; and confectionery completely.
