France’s ban of iPhone 12 sales due to radiation fears could have Europe-wide implications, regulators in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands have warned.

Apple will have to recall all iPhone 12 phones in France if corrective updates do not work, the country’s National Frequency Agency (ANFR) said on Tuesday, after tests revealed electromagnetic radiation that was 40 per cent above the legal limit.

 

On Wednesday, the Dutch digital watchdog said it was looking into the ANFR report and is seeking an explanation from the US tech giant.

 

“A norm has been exceeded. Fortunately, there is no acute safety risk but we will very shortly have a talk with producer,” Angeline van Dijk, an inspector with the Nederlandse Rijksinspectie Digitale Infrastructuur (RDI), told the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad.

“The Netherlands attaches as much importance as France to safe use of mobile phones. Mobile phones must comply with European norms.”

You would think that such an expensive phone would meet standards imposed to prevent radiation poisoning. But this is Apple whom has also been implicated of planned obsolescence leading the faithful to upgrade their phone to even more expensive "new and improved" versions.

France’s digital minister said the iPhone 12’s radiation levels are still much lower than levels that scientific studies consider could harm users, and the agency itself acknowledges that its tests don’t reflect typical phone use.
 

The French government agency that manages wireless communications frequencies issued the order after the iPhone 12 recently failed one of two types of tests for electromagnetic waves capable of being absorbed by the body. 
 

It’s unclear why the phone, which was released in late 2020, didn’t pass the agency’s latest round of tests and why it was only that particular model.

Of course I wouldn't have expected anything less than an Apple fanboy, trying to minimalize it, but regulations are the same for everyone, including Apple.

What does this have to do with Apple fan boys, this happens as much with Android brand phones, likely even more, they are just so insignificant that it never even makes the news. Usually the problem is solved before it even comes to us, if you follow financial news that traders use, you read stuff like this about all kinds of things, daily.

So, to be clear, you are definitely stating that the French digital minister is an apple fanboy.

 

Or is it that any positive writing about Apple products must be written by apple fanboy.

There's something odd about iPhone 12 here. Below are official values from the German Office of Radiation Protection. Iphone 12 is high but well within spec.

 

Note that Apple can change these levels in software. Do you remember when Volkswagen engineers developed special software to fool US emissions testing?  Don't know if Apple is doing similar but they have a worse track record by using software to degrade performance to sell phones.
