Travel Phuket Airport to Install Automated Passport Control Channels
Pictures courtesy of Naewna Pol. Lt. Gen. Panumas Boonyalak, the Commissioner of the Immigration Bureau, visited Phuket Airport to discuss plans for the implementation of Automated Border Control (ABC) channels. During his visit, he collaborated with Phuket Airport Director Montchai Tahnod and Tanapol Kongbunma, CEO of Chanwanich Co. Ltd. This initiative is set to significantly enhance the efficiency of immigration processes, aiming to provide a smoother and quicker experience for international travellers. The introduction of these automated systems is particularly timely, as Phuket sees an increasing number of tourists. The ABC channels will help to reduce waiting times at immigration checkpoints, thereby improving the overall travel experience. By leveraging advanced technology, the project reflects Thailand's commitment to embracing innovative solutions to meet the demands of growing tourism and ensuring a welcoming gateway for visitors.
