webfact
The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) today issued a heavy rain warning and flash floods in 44 provinces. The eastern region is expected to be the hardest hit, with 80% of the area likely to face heavy downpours. Bangkok is also expected to experience significant heavy rain, with a risk of sudden flash floods and forest water run-off. The 24-hour weather forecast indicates that the high atmospheric pressure area is covering southern China, with a trough passing through the northern and northeastern regions. This, combined with the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand, results in heavy rain and flash floods in several areas. A low-pressure pocket covers the lower northeastern region, lower Laos, and Cambodia. These conditions result in heavy rain in various parts of the lower northeastern region, the central region, and the south. There is also a prediction of very heavy rain and flash floods in some parts of the eastern region. by Nattapong Westwood Picture courtesy of Mike Behnken/flickr. I still remember my first Thai WET SEASON in 2011. 2 1
connda
I hope we get more rain. The ponds and irrigation catch-basins where literally only half full three weeks ago in our area of Lamphun province. On the positive side, these water reservoirs are now close to being full. Another couple of good rains will hopefully fill these aquifers and hopefully raise the water table in the area before we go into Cool and Hot seasons. So for me it's like, "Bring It On!" Let's see some more monsoon rains! 1

Oink
Guess the drought is canceled then! Now we wait for a politician to claim credit for it.
JonnyF
A good healthy wet season. Great news. Although I'm sure the climate alarmists will be along shortly to tell us they saw Noah's ark on their way to Nana ????.
