It amazes me the number of buffoons that claim the mainstream media supports Israel. The mainstream media (at least in the US) is hard-left, and the hard-left loves them some hamas.

Here's how I look at the issue of Gazans being killed as collateral damage in Gaza:

Germany attacked England during the Blitz in WWII. The UK and the US responded with a strategic bombing capsign  with the end of destroying the Nazis. Many Germans were killed by this bombing.

If you believe that the Allied bombing campaign as a whole was wrong, then you would be consistent in thinking that the IDF bombing campaign is wrong.

Nonsense.

Even if the city was 100% surrounded (which it isn't, and won't be) that still leaves out other towns/cities/neighborhoods/refugee camps outside of the cordoned area. Given Hamas's extensive tunnel system, the topside action is not going to cut it.

I'm not aware of any IDF comment that implies it will all end soon. If anything, the exact opposite.

Hamas will lose.

Even you are admitting it's just a matter of time.

Unless there is a ceasefire, (which looks more and more likely if Biden et al gets there way) in which case hamas wins and it goes back to what it was on the sixth, but with great PR and funding gains for hamas.

I was not asserting it may not happen, but that there are no assessment it's going to happen soon.

A ceasefire can very well be applied for limited time frame. That happened on past iterations, with hostilities resuming afterwards.

Right now, I think it would be a mistake.

Right.

All the posts about the IDF assume that IDF will win, the question is how long will it take.

Curiously, there isn't much information about Hamas rocket launches from northern Gaza now that Israel has bifurcated Gaza. I wonder if Hamas has stopped giving away their positions by launching rockets.

They had a cease fire for 2 weeks after Oct 7th before the IDF went in. Stopping now would just play into Hamas hands, IDF need to carry on and crush them as much as possible.

While a ceasefire could "...very well be applied for limited time frame...", it will not be. It may be sold to Israel as such, but one the shooting stops, the begging starts and hamas will be stronger than ever.

I feel a little sad for Biden, I'm pretty sure he personally supports Israel, but the hamas wing of his party won't stand for it.

It started back in 1948, 7th Oct is just another phase of said war no matter how you want to frame it.

When did Israel declare war with Hamas? Can you tell me the topic we are on? Would you like it repeated for you?

There is no justification for the attacks on 7th Oct.

Well you can see yourself as part of that, but many of us see you gleefully dancing on the graves of murdered jews.

And hoping for more, like your "humanitarian" allies.

Excellent link Bkk Brian, have you read it? The good bit "It is important to also recognize the attacks by Hamas did not happen in a vacuum. The Palestinian people have been subjected to 56 years of suffocating occupation," Guterres said.

Most of launchers are pre-dug. Say, a row of 5-8 tubes with top covered with scrub, debris or whatever. Launch is from a different spot, ranges vary. These are spread all over Gaza. As one Israeli officer commented they'll still be finding them 10 years form now. I think the reason that there are less launches from north Gaza is IDF presence - think there's a way to neutralize it in short range.

I'm aware that you're on an anti-Biden mission, thanks.

That you're sure thing will pan out this way or that is kinda clouded by that mission.

There is no Hamas 'wing' of the Dem Party. Possibly one supporter on the sly.
