Thailand is working with Jordan, Egypt and Malaysia to secure the release of 11 citizens taken hostage during unrest in Israel, So far it’s believed 12 Thais were killed and 11 taken hostage,
 just over 1,400 Thai nationals have voiced an intention to return home and first group of 15 is expected to leave Israel tomorrow,

 

Police say:  A young man from Myanmar, who is wanted in connection with the murder of a former Thai ambassador to Denmark, has fled to Myanmar. The victim was fatally stabbed at his residence in Bangkok. The suspect, who worked as a painter, had been employed at the ambassador's house since September 19th.

 

The Agricultural Land Reform Committee is set to proceed with revisions to its regulations, enabling landholders to convert their land papers into title deeds. This upgrade will facilitate the sale of land, a transaction that is presently not permitted.

 

Thailand’s Earth Observation Satellite 2 Theos-2 achieved a successful launch yesterday following a delayed liftoff that was originally scheduled for Saturday. The launch took place from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana, South America. Theos-2 will serve as a replacement for Theos-1, which was launched in October 2008.

 

The government's proposal for a 20 baht flat fare for train travel in Bangkok is due to be presented to the cabinet for approval on Monday, Instead of the initially planned start date of December 1st, the 20-baht flat fare for the Red and Purple lines is expected to go into effect within a few days

 

Two men aged  27 and 32 were apprehended at two houses in prachuap khiri khan, both had been in possession of firearms including rifles,  hand guns, telescopic sights and ammunition, all were confiscated, police also charged the two with drug offenses.

China on Monday (Oct 9) warned the Philippines against further "provocations" at an atoll in the South China Sea, saying such acts had violated Chinese territorial sovereignty, contravened international law and disrupted regional peace and stability.
