Thailand, Brunei Set to Expand Comprehensive Cooperation

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Oct 10 (TNA) – Thailand and Brunei are gearing up to enhance their long-standing cooperation in various dimensions, including economics, tourism, and infrastructure.

 

Following the successful Hong Kong visit, Prime Minister and Finance Minister Srettha Thavisin embarked on an official visit to Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. He arrived at 2:00 PM local time, one hour ahead of Thailand.

Every time I hear Brunei mentioned, I can never forget one Scottish pilot of their airline who 'accidently' on purpose left his mike on as we touched down, I burst out laughing, everyone stared at me, he said in a broad Scottish " I couldn't 'arf go a bacon sandwich now"  true story. memory for life.

I taught in an International School there.  The ambitious height of my Brunei pupils was to get a job doing nothing in an A/C office whilst importing 'slaves' to do the dirty work.  The two countries have a lot in common.

Isn't Brunei drowning in oil? Maybe a good deal can be had whereby Brunei gives Thailand oil, and Thailand gives Brunei somtam? No need to use the dollar or the yuan, just trade directly, one somtam for one barrel of oil.
