Pull the other leg, will you.

That's settles it then. Guess I'll throw my factual data in the trash.

It’s true. Sexpats went to Sukhumvit and regularly slagged off the backpackers from the Banglampoo area, as ‘dirty backpackers’. Oh… the irony.
Whilst we were fishing in a ocean of beautiful and plenty, they were shooting fish in a barrel. So most have no experience in actually meeting women in any other kind of setting. They have very fixed ideas about women based on having to pay for their company.
They simply cannot believe that money doesn’t ever need to enter the equation other than being able to support yourself.
But interesting to share points of views all the same.

Has anyone been to KSR since the latest 'gentrification'? Is it still busy and good for people watching? Still plenty of bars to choose from and street food vendors?

I'm taking an old mate there for 1 night soon who hasn't been to Thailand for 20 years. I have warned him it's not the KSR we all knew!

Please........you weren't getting "an ocean of free women" down Khao San Road 20 years ago - I started living here just a couple of years after that - and it was a commercialised tourist trap then. It made Sukhumvit look good!

I took one look and never went back.

The western women would have been free, that's about it!

We were referring to ‘western’ women you 🤡  Perhaps you should follow the thread before you post and make a fool of yourself.
We didn’t need to pay for desperately poor women from the north east and beyond. We could simply commune with our equals. That doesn’t mean that some didn’t have Thai girls as partners. But these were ‘normal’ girls, rather than ones for rent and sale.

So what you're saying is that people like yourself (who were fortunate enough to get the attention of the beauties in the ocean) could pump and dump to your hearts' content...but the blokes who the western girls looked straight through (because they weren't good looking enough, or didn't have the gift of the gab) had to just sit back and watch you have all the fun?

Not in Thailand my friend. In Thailand the playing field is levelled. Maybe that's what irritates you 🤔😜

Haha… you just identified yourself as a sex tourist 😊

Playing field levelled by you paying for the company of women with whom you could barely have even a rudimentary conversation? What an edifying experience 😳

No, we, the men and women were on an equal footing. Travelling together, supporting each other. Learning how to be in relationships. No pumping and dumping as you so nauseatingly put it. I made it clear that I’m still in contact with many even now. It wasn’t all about trying to have sex with every attractive woman or otherwise. It was to broaden our experience. Unlike the men with stunted growth who have no experience other than shooting fish in a barrel.

@CG1 Blue @FruitPudding It’s just another perspective, not a peeing contest… unless you make it so.
I just speak from my perspective and tell the truth as I experienced it and as I see it. Let’s not argue. You have your perspective and your reasoning. I only got into this because of the looking down on the Arabs and anyone else daring to inhabit the area. You had your time.

Sexpats didn't go to KSR, as most are ugly/fat/old.

The only guy I knew to have AIDS back then is still alive.

Correct, KSR was where the bagpackers hung out and told each other lies about their "adventures". No sexpat would have hung out there.

Far as I could see, their adventures consisted of getting p****d, getting high, buying junk and overpriced clothes, watching VDOs in grotty restaurants, and following each other to Phangan where they took bad drugs on the beach and drank buckets while "dancing" to bad music, if they hadn't fallen off the m'bike they didn't know how to ride and ending up in hospital. Quite a few ended up in jail or paying large to escape jail because they bought drugs off police stoolies.

I used to go to the FMP and have a laff at the idiots that got drunk and then went off into the bushes with the many katoeys that preyed on them, only to see the katoey running off after the sucker realised what they were.

I remember about 7 years ago in that place, a foreing blonde young lady asked me, without any introduction, if I would like to come to her room and have sex. I said No thank you, because I was waiting for some friends. I will regret that for the rest of my life.

Why will you regret that for the rest of your life? Was it the last time you had the opportunity to have sex???

I haven't spoken about my sexual conquests at all.

You are in a peeing contest with someone else,  apparently, not me.

In fact, I think it's just you and Neeranam who are in a peeing contest together. 🥳

Who said anything about Arabs? 🤡

Maybe you should reread the thread; it's only 2 pages long. Actually,  the only person looking down on others is: you!

You are looking down on people who pay 4 play down Sukhumvit.  Why are you so interested in their sex? They are adults, up to them.

Nobody said anything about Arabs here 🤡  🤡 🤡 😄 🤣 😂 😆 😄 🤡

Actually you are right about nobody mentioning Arabs here. That’s on another thread in this board with regard to Sukhumvit. Posting on both at the same time and didn’t like the ‘looking down’ on the current inhabitants. So I waded in… 😊

Now where is that thaibeachlovers….?

I don’t doubt some of what you say is true.
I only went to the FMP a couple of times. It just lost the ‘sitting around a fire playing a guitar’ vibe and just became a soulless drug fuelled abomination IMHO. People just went to tick it off their boxes. They weren’t true explorers. There are very few of them. The people travelling there changed considerably. Flash packers and chavs who found out how ‘cheaply’ they could get a companion for the night.

No, I'm open minded and can understand both sides of the argument. I was trying to help you do the same.

You don’t need to help me. I too can see both sides. In this case I was inadvertently continuing a discussion from another thread for the reasons aforementioned.

It's the thrill of the "what might have been".

I have more than a few about the cute BGs I had to pass on for various reasons. I remember them more than some of the ones I did go with.

I was there almost 30 years ago, somewhere on a rooftop of one of the buildings in the soi. Open air and disco lights and all that.

Cola from the bottle was a ridiculous price like 20B per bottle or something like that.

Some girls from Nana wanted to go there and I could easily buy cola for them all night. ????

No further charges.

Days of 70baht to the £ ???

I started visiting (as a tourist)  in 1991, staying in Thailand for a couple of months each year, a month or two scuba diving on Koh Tao, then traveling around the country, landing in Bangkok for a few days before returning to Japan. I always stayed in the 'New Siam Guest House' behind the Wat. Those were fun days, with my A/C room costing 150 Baht a night. Meals on Khao San Road, people-watching.

I did that every year until I finally moved to Thailand in 2001. By that time KSR was already becoming too gentrified. These days, it's nothing like its former 'glory.'

I did New Siam 2’s river view rooms. But my first experience there was at the Merry V Guesthouse. Nice people.

I remember the Merry V. It was quite popular back in the day. In fact, I was headed there my first time in Bangkok, but saw the New Siam as I was walking by, and stopped there instead.

😊 I didn’t know about any of them. A girl on the airport bus dragged me off to a double room at the Merry V. I guess because it was cheaper than her paying for a single on her own ☺️
