BANGKOK, Oct 17 (TNA) – Preparations are underway to bring back the bodies of Thai workers who were killed in Israel to Thailand as verification of their identities will be partly completed within one week.

Labor Minister Pipat Rachakitprakarn said currently, the Thai embassy in Israel, along with the Ministry of Labor, is accepting Thai workers in Tel Aviv. With 2-3 flights per day, they can bring back 300-400 Thai workers. Officials have already been deployed to Tel Aviv to facilitate the swift and efficient return of Thai workers.

Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance Srettha Thavisin has instructed the repatriation of 7,500 registered Thai workers within this month, depending on the availability of flights. Currently, there are one Thai Airways aircraft, one Royal Thai Air Force aircraft, two Air Asia aircraft, and two Nok Air aircraft. Even if not all workers return within the month, they are likely to be close to the target. So far, about 500 workers have returned home.
