webfact
On October 18, at 05:56 AM, a serious accident occurred on the Chaloem Maha Nakhon Expressway in Bangkok, leaving two people injured. The incident was investigated by Pol. Lt. Col. Chaiyapat Thapchom, Deputy Chief of the Traffic Control Center, Expressway Authority of Thailand. The accident site was located approximately 300 meters from the Tha Rua Exit ramp, where a four-lane road runs. Upon inspection, it was found that a pickup truck, identified as an older model Isuzu, colored navy blue with the license plate "ผฉ 9368 Nakhon Pathom," had flipped over, with all four wheels pointing upwards, reported Siam Rath. In the aftermath of the accident, Mr. Sumik, a 69-year-old individual of Burmese origin who was operating the pickup truck, suffered a severe head injury, including a fractured skull. Rescue personnel had to use cutting equipment to extricate him from the wreckage. Without delay, both victims were promptly transported to Tep Tharins Hospital to receive immediate medical care. CCTV footage from the accident scene revealed that both vehicles were traveling together from the Bang Na area, heading towards the Din Daeng district. The pickup truck was in the third lane, leading the way, while the sedan followed closely behind. Preliminary investigations have not indicated alcohol consumption by either driver. Following this incident, authorities will schedule a meeting with both parties involved to obtain statements and proceed with legal actions accordingly.
