Police arrested a Thai food delivery rider on Saturday, October 28, for the murder of a female disc jockey (DJ) and the subsequent abandonment of her body in the woods within the Phichit province of Isaan.

Number of Thai hostages held by Hamas rises by three

Three more Thai nationals than originally reported were abducted by Hamas militants on October 7th, raising the number of Thai hostages to 22, while the death toll remains 32 and 19 injured, according to the latest report from the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Armed & dangerous: Hunt for escaped convict escalates

A 1 million baht reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a convicted criminal who escaped custody in southern Thailand. The authorities have been hunting for Chavalit Thongduang after he fled a Nakhon Si Thammarat hospital where he was receiving some dental treatments.

Mpox Surges With 24 Infected, One More Death In Just A Week

THE PUBLIC Health Ministry said this morning (Oct. 30) mpox (monkeypox) cases increased over the past week with 24 getting injected while one patient who was HIV positive died with two having succumbed to this disease so far, TV Channel 7 said.

Thai central bank aims to cut household debt to 80% of GDP

The Bank of Thailand (BoT) is considering four measures to reduce Thailand’s household debt to about 80% of gross domestic product (GDP), down from the current 90.7%, according to Ronadol Numnonda, deputy governor for financial institution stability at the BoT.

Chiang Mai airport given go-ahead to operate 24/7 from Wednesday

From Wednesday, Chiang Mai International Airport will operate 24 hours a day. Transport Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit has confirmed the facility has been given the green light to operate around the clock, in a bid to boost tourism and the local economy.

Inhalant addiction: Chulalongkorn University lecturer warns of serious health risks

Frequent use of inhalants, especially to the point of addiction, can pose serious health risks, warns a popular Facebook page, Oh, It’s Like This, by Dr Jatuporn Denpruang, a lecturer in the Department of Biology at Chulalongkorn University. She responded to a query from a page fan asking whether frequent inhaling of these products is harmful or has long-term effects on the body.

Fake Hi-So man swindles over 10 million baht from women

Police arrested a Thai man who created a fake Hi-So (high society) profile to swindle more than 30 women out of over 10 million baht. A number of his victims were too embarrassed to report the crime to the police, allowing the man to continue his deceitful operations for years.
