Yeah, got it same as you. Eventually the car prompted to update.

It "appears" that the remote aircon glitch has been fixed - now the car actually appears to open the shutters allowing air to flow and the air comes in cold. I have to confirm it once again in a very hot day.

That is good news, will check out the air shutters also.

For some reason the BYD App didn’t auto download the updates at night ( enabled and fixed at 2.00 am ) so I put them all to update and they finished in a couple of minutes ( unlike Sunday !! ).

Also, created a new wallpaper, to keep the little lady happy 😃

( apparently exceeding the max of 29 mb so you will have to use your imagination !! )

EDIT: obviously not necessary to have all the languages available but i have decided to keep everything up to date ……. and why wouldn’t i want Hindi or Malay available 🤔

Personally, I would delete all unused languages as it reduces system/storage available memory. Typically reduced system memory can slow down responsiveness of the system, core functions may run slower, apps may run slower, etc.

So, in the UK the BYD Seal is still selling well and now they have a 2026 facelift model.

Personally I would rather see this here in Thailand as opposed to the Seal 06 which I see as a downgrade.

The Ruby Red is in demand but I am unsure whether i like it or not.

but am not sure I would go for it, owned a red MG recently ( 2020 -2023 ) and it was okay but wished it was the Mazda red .

Anyway, looks unlikely to happen here so probably irrelevant, but if it did happen would probably go for the Lavender Grey which is similar to my Space Grey ( mostly blue) with a slight lavender tinge.

The most sensible colour for an electric car in a tropical climate is white. It keeps the cabin cooler and reduces the energy spent on air conditioning.

Owned a white, silver and red car here in Thailand, now on a dark blue/grey colour so it is probably time for a black one ….. and a third regret 😟

Of course each individual likes different colors on vehicles.....and different vehicles look good or no-so-good in certain colors. Personally, I've never been a fan of white or silver in most cases....and kinda in the middle about gray. Here in Thailand I had a black Toyota Fortuner for 16 years, now have a black BYD Sealion 7 AWD, and a red BYD Atto 3. We went with these colors since both the wife and I liked those colors the best on these particular models.

Below video does some exterior and interior temp measurements of two identical vehicles...one white...one black.

I’m a big fan of Porsche’s Frozenberry colour. I wrapped my Seal in it and at some point will probably repaint my Sealion 7 in it.

So, this might be of interest to BYD Seal owners ( probably Sealion 7 also ) especially iPhone owners, not sure if there is an alternative for Android users.

I use my remote function frequently to start the air when I am parked outside and returning to the car shortly.

Normally in a mall, at a restaurant/market etc, and know I will be arriving at the car in the next 10/15 minutes.

Would be nice if there was an accompanying sound to show the command has been activated ( like the whoosh sound of the app ) then I don’t have to even look at the phone as usually walking when I remember to turn on the air !!

Yeah, it’s a small thing but it all helps the overall experience.

Mr Electric Seal had a few issues but he was not speaking his first language so maybe in reality it works more smoothly in Finnish ( if Finnish is accepted ? ).

Wonder how it will cope with a “Yorksher” accent ?

Naughty naughty BYD !

So, in Europe and the U.K. the BYD Seal is still selling well and has had a recent facelift ( MY 2026 ).

Some new colours including a stunning Ruby Red, new rims and a larger frunk and boot/trunk.

The infotainment screen does not now rotate but that is one of those features that rarely gets used anyway.

Surely the biggest attraction, apart from the new red colour if you like that, is an additional 85 ltrs of storage in the back !!

But, it has been claimed that BYD are now adding the underfloor storage in the calculation and the actual dimensions haven’t changed !!

Seems unlikely that they would do that ??

Anyway The Electric Seal breaks out the tape measure to determine the truth:

For those who can’t be bothered watching the video here’s the result.

The frunk is indeed larger by 19 ltrs as is obvious.

But, the boot/trunk is exactly the same size and BYD have added the underfloor storage into the equation for the facelifted version !!

It has been also reported ( new MY 26 owners in a uk fb group ) that the second underfloor storage section which houses the pump/foam and a couple of other items is now included in the “ additional “ 85 ltrs of rear storage and the above items are supplied without the foam insert and loose in the boot !!, quite scandalous I would say !! ( if true ).

Electric Seal just confirmed that there is no styrofoam box in the lowest underfloor storage of the MY 26 allowing BYD to class both lower levels as boot/trunk space now.

Bothers me not but i would feel scammed if upgrading from a 23/24 Seal to a MY 26 version and expecting an increase from the barely adequate 400 ltrs to a respectable 485 ltrs.
