Law Enforcement Crackdown on Transnational Crime and Drug Trafficking in Loei Province

On November 2, 2023, Loei Province's Deputy Police Commissioner, Chonnapan Suwansrinon, along with other law enforcement officials, launched a concerted effort to combat transnational crimes and illegal drug activities in the region.

During an operation conducted from October 29 to October 31, 2023, four suspects were apprehended:

 

1. Mr. Anusorn Chaikeeni, a 25-year-old Thai national, was arrested in Ban Huay Phichai, Pak Chom District, Loei Province. He was charged with possessing one tablet of methamphetamine, a Category 1 narcotic, without permission, and aiding foreigners in entering and residing in the kingdom illegally, reported Siam Rath.

2. Mr. Sooksaakon Pothong, a 27-year-old Laotian national, was apprehended in a similar fashion, with one tablet of methamphetamine in his possession, along with charges related to illegal entry and drug possession.

 

3. Ms. Jarunyee Saensue, a 40-year-old Thai national, was arrested in Phu Kradeung District, Loei Province, for her involvement in harboring and assisting illegal immigrants, in addition to employing foreign workers without work permits.

4. An unidentified Laotian female, referred to as Ms. Nid, was likewise apprehended due to unlawful entry and engaging in employment without the necessary legal documentation.

This operation, orchestrated by high-ranking law enforcement authorities, seeks to eliminate cross-border criminal operations and the illicit drug trade in the area, delivering a resounding message against such unlawful pursuits.
