‘I Am Nobody’s Puppet’: PM

PRIME MINISTER SRETTHA Thavisin has apparently vented his frustration saying he virtually is “no puppet” under control of de facto Pheu Thai boss Thaksin Shinawatra or any other persons.

Srettha tweeted on his X page over the weekend to say he is virtually ”no puppet” who could otherwise be pulled around by the de facto Pheu Thai boss/”sickly” convict or any member of the Shinawatra family.

Given solid support from deposed prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra for his first-ever partisan campaign for prime minister, Srettha was apparently responding to sustained criticism that he virtually performs as a “puppet” pulled around by her brother, Thaksin.

You are a puppet. No doubt. Controlled by the army, and other powers. No point in protesting. We all know what's going on and there's no logic to your denials, they are only that. Simple denials tryin

OK!  Is "stooge " the correct description?

  • Popular Post

It is irrelevant what he is, he will be replaced by Paetongtarn pretty damn quick.

That is exactly what you are. You are a nobody, my friend. No member of the public voted your ass in, so be a good smiling donkey for the army and that mouthy dinosaur and keep quiet.

I didn't know that Thaksin has that power to influence the conservative senators and the coalition parties in the joint sitting of the House and Senate to get the majority nod of 482 votes to elect K Sretha as Prime Minister. You sure know a lot 😃

The senate/military/Elite had a HUGE problem.

All their main parties got slammed and became useless and unable to form a government directly.  even if the 3 major parties joined as they did before it wold still have been a short life.  With protests all over the country.

The MFP were easy to get rid of.  They made he mistake of only nominating 1 person.

The Phue Thai on the other hand had 3 nominees.  One of which was a Thaksin who had been touted as the next PM before the election.

The Elite realized that while they could not officially run the government and have their man as PM they could run the country through the PheiU Thai.

However part of the deal was that a Shin family member could not run for PM in exchange they would allow Thaksin back into the country in a sweetheart deal.

Make no mistake the Pheu Thai are only in power as long as the military wants them.  All it would take is to upset the military elite and they decide to leave the coalition and it is all over.

Sretha was the only person that fit the plan that all involved could stomach.

No strings on him; he is a glove puppet with Thaksin's hand inserted.

We have the benefit of hindsight. Up to the very last minute to put up Sretha as joint house election, Prawit was very much in the fight for nomination. If Prawit was nominated, it will be an easy passage to be Prime Minister with 188 votes from MPs outside the coalition and most of the 250 senators. Thaksin will have a much more easier path to return if Prawit is the Prime Minister. Sretha was a gamble and involved lots of lobbying and probably intervention from higher up. He was an unknown and political novice. If he failed in the joint house election, he dont get a second chance and we will likely get Prawit.

PTP nominate Sretha and not Paetongtarn and was a right decision. He has no political baggages while the same can't be said of Paetongtarn. Sretha will be PM for the full term and there will be no coup. He has been busy since taking office and the people has voiced their approval on his performance. PTP will likely to nominate him again for a second term. Replacing Sretha when he is doing well with Paetongtarn is fool hardy and will initiate a vote of no confidence. Thaksin is pragmatic and in his twilight years and will retire to family life. No doubt his advise will be seek but he will not participate in politic actively.

Ok, you are no puppet, delusional definately.

Ok, I'll join the fray, just for fun. Thakin's daughter will run for PM as the coalition falls apart (as expected) This is where it get's interesting. When you gain power the first (and only) task is to stay in power. So, since Pheu Thai has clearly betrayed the Thai people, and even if Thakin's money manages to buy many rural votes, it might still be necessary for them to keep their military alliance. So sad for Thailand.

Guess he forgot who the puppet master is then.

Perhaps wait for photo op when he visit US and meet with President Joe Biden in mid November. Material for your eagle eye analysis.
