Left the bin in the car but was around 60 Baht for 620ml bottle in Big C

EDIT Just looked and it was 50 Baht. Not building my hopes up.

Don't keep us waiting, what does it taste like? I know it's still early but you need to take one for the team and crack it open! 555

  • Singha and Chang both taste horrible, I've come to the conclusion that Thai's drink to get drunk, not because they like the taste of beer.

  • its popularity will depend on mostly 1 thing... the price. thais dont have the finesse, nor the palate to distinguish and enjoy a good beer

  • Hey Watson, do you eat food to get fat? If you can't drink alcohol without getting drunk, you might wish to visit your local AA.

They are good, and I even have the German glasses to drink them from. But they cost 3x as much so I don't buy them that often. Cheers Weizen is a pretty decent alternative.

I don't think I have tried the Cheers one yet, will give it a try.

I am saving the pleasure until later. Not cold yet.

Judging by the price and the crap bottle/label not expecting too much.

Don't exactly look premium does it?

They also do a passion fruit one which I once picked up by mistake. Even that wasn't bad if you like sweet Weizen. Probably one for the ladies though.

Going to grab a few different beers tomorrow, need my popcorn and beer, going to watch the "Equalizer 3" and maybe the new "Mission Impossible" movie on Amazon Prime this weekend.:drunk:

Chang is Carlsberg by a different name. Delicious. In their former joint venture, Carlsberg took the venture while the partner took the joint. Goodbye Carlsberg, hello Chang. 🥹

Carlsberg Elephant beer in Denmark used to be 8% and a beautiful taste.

Chang does not quite compare, but is OK.

Hope these new ones get to my neck of the woods soon. Tapper is OK at 6.5%.

Agree about the label, but maybe they are going for "brand recognition".

I'll be buying a few of each style (maybe not the fruit flavour) for a taste test, as soon as I find them. Any effort to improve the choice of local beers should be supported.

I bought the lager and the dunkel yesterday as I was getting my Heineken zeros. At 60 baht each it shouldn't put the locals off.  I'll try them when I'm off the wagon again.

Yes I have a case of Tapper in the fridge, I like feeling fuzzy after 1

7/11 has a 10.5% beer

50 baht would be a lower price than the competition, though I see someone else just posted he paid 60 baht.

Unsafe definitely.

It may just need the lid taking off and freeing up.

Many use a standard RCBO for a simple fix.

I would put them in the same category as Budweiser, swill.

Many people have different palates and many like the taste of Chang and Singha.

Its quite a general statement that Thais drink to get drunk and I would say that is false.

If Thais are drinking to get drunk they drink Lao Khow...

The more competition the better.  Chon.

Carabao-Red Sun has introduced five beer flavours to the market. These include Lager Beer, a German-style beer made from 100% malt; Dunkel Beer, a German-style dark beer made from roasted malt; Weizen Beer, a genuine Bavarian-style beer with a fruity aroma; Rose Beer, a genuine Bavarian-style beer mixed with raspberry; and IPA Beer, an ale with the taste and aroma of hops.

Would be a refreshing change form the rubbish forced on us by the monopoly.

The Automobile Association does not encourage drinking and driving.

Not seen that but 6.5% works well for me, I have no interest in under 5%

Chang does not have the same affect on me as Fartsberg. 🤣😂

What's your opinion on 'The beer that made Milwaukee famous' 😀

Leo did bring out 3 great beers last year, but too expensive and soon disappeared

I quite liked those special hoppy brews in the aluminum bottles, and I can't stand regular Thai beer. Unfortunately, the advertising ban stopped them from getting into the public consciousness, and as you say the 79 baht price was likely too high for the folks looking for the cheapest possible buzz.

Tapper is half decent at 6.5.

Cheers red at 6% good as well

So the oligarchy increases by 1. Still an oligarchy.
