Bangkok nightlife braces for extended hours with heightened safety protocols

Bars must stop serving at 2 am.  I don't know how that can be enforced if bars are open to 4 am. Bribery will once agin raise its' ugly head.

How does staying open longer impact safety and fire prevention systems? Shouldn't those measures be in place at all hours? More bizarre Thai logic.

Will the girls still be standing outside the Nana hotel after 4am???

Me too - but a little longer. Spicy in Bangkok was open until 6am 15 years ago (possibly longer). Not that it was legal then though.  Many other bars have been opening later for a long time. Anyone know if that place is still there?

My local club in Pak Chong stays open until at least 4am now - longer if there's enough customers.

I don't see that much will change - other than legalising what already happens - that won't go down too well with the BiB..........they'll have to find a new 'extraction' method.

They will just show up at 5am instead of 1am. On that front nothing will change. It's not like the 4am closing time will suddenly be adhered to. If there's money to be made.....

To be fair most places have safety and other things in place, just the odd drunk who gets into trouble including thais. When they leave the clubs then the trouble may start and the police will sort that out.All places have guards to make sure everything runs ok
