App required for home cctv cameras

Featured Replies

I would appreciate if anyone can advise on an app that allows connection to my home cameras from anywhere. We have Tuya home which works in Thailand and Taiwan but not in the United kingdom.  We bought a house in Thailand and my father in law and brother in law live there. We want to be able to view from the uk.  Any help please

Thanks for your reply. I did try a VPN but that did not work either. I have never used vpn before so May have been something I did wrong as the software knew I was in the uk, possibly because of my email address.

Yes .. what NVR software / system are you using?

There are a few ways to remotely access your server. I use Cloudflare DDNS, cloudflare keeps a tab on my ip address - then I use NGINX proxy manager to safely manage the access. 3BB offer a DDNS service, but I have never used it.

You could also look into wireguard to access your host computer.

It's not really the CCTV app that does the work, it's accessing the server / computer that allows you access to the NVR / CCTV software. How many cameras do you have? If you only have need for a couple, why not use a system that uses the cloud, with live view via some app.

Only have 2 cameras. Need something simple as I have to rely on my in-laws to install as I am in the uk now

I use these two for different camera types/locations in the UK and in Thailand.  Never had any issue with accessing the cameras from anywhere as I thought that was a key purpose of having them?
