Single ID Card to Access Healthcare Service in All Networks

BANGKOK, Nov 14 (TNA) – Starting January 1, 2024, a single ID card can be used to access healthcare services in all networks in four pilot provinces.

 

Dr. Chalnan Srikaew, Minister of Public Health, outlined the plan for the unified use of ID cards for healthcare. In the initial phase, the pilot program will be implemented in four provinces: Phrae, Roi Et, Phetchaburi, and Narathiwat.

Thailand already has a national ID card system. Why are they bringing in another ID card? Why not just present the Thai national ID card? Seems like someone in the bureaucracy is busy building an empire
