In a comprehensive operation led by the Loei Provincial Immigration Police Chief, law enforcement teams intensified their crackdown on foreign nationals working illegally in the region.

This action led to the apprehension of two Laotian nationals for drug offenses and illegal employment, along with a Thai citizen who employed foreigners without proper permits, reported Siam Rath.

Under the directive of several high-ranking officers, including Police Major General Itthipol Ittisaranchai, the Deputy Commissioner of Immigration Police, and Police Colonel Natthawut Saengduen, Deputy Chief of Loei Immigration Police, the operation spanned from November 10 to 12, 2023.

The first arrest involved Ms. Laksami Thongintra, a 69-year-old Thai resident of Muang Loei, accused of employing foreign nationals without work permits. The second apprehension was of Mr. Lae Sommongkhoun, a 35-year-old Laotian, caught working illegally.

In a notable development, law enforcement officials apprehended a young individual from Laos, aged 20, identified as Aling Petsamon. He was discovered with methamphetamine, leading to charges of narcotics possession, unauthorized border crossing, and operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs.

This capture, along with others, resulted in the detainees being transferred to the jurisdiction of regional law enforcement. This move is a crucial part of a broader campaign to address unlawful conduct within the area.
