This operation was carried out in accordance with the Immigration Act of 2522 and involved X-ray screenings to detect illegal activities, reported Siam Rath.

In an inspection on November 22, 2023, at 9:00 PM, the investigative team discovered foreign individuals working as entertainers inside a karaoke establishment in Maha Sarakham.

Authorities requested identification documents and found that three individuals were Laotian nationals entering the country with tourist visas (Form 30). However, they were found working as hostesses without the necessary work permits.

The employers were subsequently charged with hiring foreign workers without proper authorization, violating the 2017 Management of Alien Workers Act, and its 2018 amendment.

Lt. Gen. Piyana emphasized that these actions align with the government's policy to welcome foreign tourists for economic recovery in Maha Sarakham.
