Thai Airways to increase fuel surcharges

Thai Airways (THAI) will be increasing its fuel surcharges on certain routes starting from 15 July. Attributing the increase to growing global fuel prices, the levy on the carrier’s Bangkok-Auckland, Bangkok-LA and Bangkok-NY routes is expected to increase by US$10.

In a press statement, Wallop Bhukkanasut, THAI Executive Vice President for Commercial Affairs said that the airline would collect the increase in fuel surcharges from tickets issued by sales offices and travel agencies selling THAI air tickets worldwide.

THAI’s announcement follows in the footsteps of Singapore Airlines who announced a second fuel surcharge increase in May this year.
