spinshock
Hi i have just applied for the one year extension at chengwattana in bangkok. I will be returning in three weeks to have the extension stamped into my passport. Regarding the 400k in the bank. Does it have to remain above 400k to show them again when I see them in three weeks ? Or will they not check again ? thankyou ! Tod Daniels
The immigration office in Bangkok no longer checks proof of funds when you go back to get the year extension in section L-2 on the date your current under consideration stamp expires. Just show up with your passport and that blue green receipt they gave you that shows you paid 1,900 baht. Get a queue ticket from the counter for section L-2, they'll ink the extension in. Iforbach
If you get this could you be so kind as to let me know what's needed for marriage visa besides 400k cheers
Popular Post Falcon
Although the immigration office in Bangkok might not check your bank balance, there is always a chance that the people that are accepting your visa extension could want to check on your account before processing. I don’t live in Bangkok but am on a non o marriage extension and all paperwork is sent to Bangkok for processing, by my local immigration office. I have been in this extension now for the past 20 years and occasionally, I’ll get a call from Bangkok just before the 30 days under consideration is up, to ask me to send another copy of my bank book showing the 400k. Doesn’t happen much, it’s happened to me just twice, but it still can happen. If you can afford to leave the money in there until you get your extension stamped, then my advice is that you do just that. 1 1
Popular Post johng
@Iforbach Here from my notes I believe Bangkok only requires one copy not 2 as per Jomtien there are more than likely other differences but you should be ok with the list below. Jomtien March 2023 2 x copies of 1. TM7 application form signed both sides + photo attached. 2. passport face page 3. visa page 4. previous visa extension page/s 5. TM6 6. Marriage Kor Ror 3 both sides on one page 7. updated Kor Ror 2 From Amphur (can use your passport to get this as long as it's the one listed on the KR2 old passport ok, no need to use Wifes ID to get updated Kor Ror 2) 8. ID Wife ( front back same page) 9. Copy of house book ( showing current address) 10.Bank statement confirming 400,000 + in Thai bank for at least 2 month's (60 days) 3 months statement (if book as not been updated regularly) + a transaction on that day updated book and copy of all pages Bank statement must be from that day 11. photos 4 different on 2 A4 pages you and wife at home, 1 must clearly show you including the home/house/condo number. ( did 2 x 6x4 on a page printed at home was acceptable) 12. Map to house 2 sets of everything sign every page ( blue ink best) except your wife's and witness ID/house book which they must sign. Not sure if Bangkok require a witness that the immigration officers will interview about you and your wife ? I would also keep at least 400,000 in the account until the passport is stamped with extension. 1 1
sirineou
I would leave the funds there for the extra two weeks. What if you were resected for a technicality, and were ask to correct the discrepancy and resubmit? Not probable but it happens. If you want to take a chance,I am pretty sure your imigrassion will not check again . At least such has been my experience in Khon Kaen.

Will B Good
I always keep the 400k in until I see the stamp go in......you just never know......and the hassle you would suffer just isn't worth the risk.
brianthainess
Trat. I always keep mine until the final stamp but in 5yrs they have never asked to see the bank book again, but once on their home visit years ago I was asked to show my bank book, I was not happy about that, it was one officer who used to come, very hot day he ordered me to put a shirt on, then he walked around the house with his shoes on!, I never saw that toss pot again thank god.
spinshock
Thanks for the replies. For the question about the requirements. I will add that you need the new requirement of ‘notification of residence for foreigners’. Do that online and print it out. For bangkok, only one set is enough. Also two color photos of you and wife at residence printed on one A4 is enough. Edited December 11, 2023 by spinshock

Tod Daniels
Keep in mind people the O/P said they're in Bangkok, which a year or so ago STOPPED asking for the bank book to be updated when you went back to get the year extension inked in AND went to a 3 week under consideration stamp. While it is okay to keep the funds in it is definitely NOT required at Chaengwattana,

While it is okay to keep the funds in it is definitely NOT required at Chaengwattana, It doesn’t matter where it is in the country, the immigration, before they accept the extension, can at any time within the 30 day under consideration period, ask for the bank details again. The information that you are giving could get the OP in to a problem with his extension.
spinshock
I cannot edit my reply earlier, so I want to give an update here. Last year, 2 photos at my residence was enough. This year, they want me to take new photos and they want 4 photos. (One specifically showing your room number) So to be safe. Every year take 4 new photos at your residence
