sanook 1 Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 2 year temporary driving licence is about to expire/time to renew to 5 years validity. I heard that by doing it after my birthday(instead of before) will give me almost 6 years? Can someone confirm true or not?
MJCM Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 True. My wife recently renewed her licenses after her birthday and she got almost 6 years validity. 1

Havefunme Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 Your expiration date becomes your birthday so doing it after your birthday your start date starts on your next birthday my birthday is the 27th renewed mine on the 29th got 2 days short of 6 yrs 1
Henk Langeweg Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 How long can you let your 1st 2 year DL expire? Expire date and Birthdate differs 3 months. 1

Expire date and Birthdate differs 3 months. 1 year, according to the motor office. However, I am not sure the insurance will cover in that period. ** I have sort of the opposite problem. Last year I got a two year license because I was on a tourist visa. Now I am on a proper visa and should be able to get a five year licence - but how long before the expiration date can I apply for a new licence? I still got +1 year on the licence. ** Sorry, didn't realize that you asked about the 1st 2 year licence. My answer is for a 5 year licence. I am not sure it is the same for a 2 year licence. 1

Update: A friend of mine, renewed his license yesterday a couple of days after his birthday, and his new license is valid until his Birthday in 2030. So indeed almost 6 years 1
