This might apply to all airlines the world over.......talking a good show is part and parcel to the sleight-of-hand and the BS.

They all just needed an excuse [the COVID era] to raise prices across the board, while diminishing service is quite apparent. 

 

The cost of flying will not recoup for anyone.

What I do believe is likely for any international flyers is that the price of oil is likely to continue to drop well into next year, if we see a global recession. This will certainly trim the price of long haul flights to some degree. But having looked at tickets for my brother to come visit from the US, the prices are not all that terrible right now.

Airfares might dip a little but they will turn around and continue to add fees for seat selection and other small service fees.  The price of international airfare will certainly not "plummet" as the headline states.
